I apoligize to the moderators before hand that this is another should-read-the-faq-post. I do, and am. I am just looking for some validation as something I am doing seems to be not working.

I am sure that subject has been already gone over, so if you want to just leave a link feel free. I just know a lot has changed lately in the combat of the game. Lately the ground game has been driving me crazy. I recently made TK and I am in the Novice block. Damage is non exhistant, and so then is xp. it was a long hard traveled road through brawler, and I stuck it out in hopes that it is going to get better/more fun.

I have a suit of composite, sometimes wear everything but the pants, and fight buffed and unbuffed, on Tat and Dant mostly. Regardless of whether I am buffed, or not, fighting for xp is slowly wearing away on me as a time waster. The first thing I did was join a guild thinking that might help my leveling up.

The quenkers take awhile for me alone. At what level are they supposed to be the xp place to be? I only have spin attack 1 and unarmed hit 1, etc. 2.2 speed VK. Other proffesions, ranged, melee, are making a lot more xp per kill and I am feeling left behind. So links to other posts still relevant or andy help with xp, money making, would be appriciated. My other ground professions are scout 3X1X, medic 333X.

Stick with it, it's a REAL pain. I did it in September of this year...and remember it very unfondly. But once I got that novice box, I went out buffed and challenged anything I could get to attack me....

Since you hunt on dant, huurton's are good targets. I am grinding pistols right now, and huurtons are definitely good to grind with. They don't have any real special abilities.

I agree with the needed speed slice. Get a 1.7 speed VK at least, it'll help.

Also a good place to grind, is LOK. Mynock missions for 9K each. Their poison isn't a big deal buffed. Just go in and spin attack the lair, with your composite...you'll have no issues taking the hits. Keep spinning like a top and you'll start netting 2900-3600xp per kill. (that's my plan this weekend to max out pistols...it's good $ and xp)

the only thing i noticed was that you're using a 2.2 speed VK before you get master you should really get some VKs that are speed sliced as close to 1.0 as you can get. Even though you're not certified you can still use the speed mod. If you play on Bria I actually have some speed sliced VKs on my vendor or you can sometimes findthem on the Bazaar. Either way stick with it cause once youget Novice and work your way up toxx4x things get really interesting.

Yes, the information is in the FAQs, but you'll find that we do not have a problem helping someone who honestly searches for help and is not just being lazy. Mankind summed everything up nicely, but I thought I would add a couple of comments as well.

The grind through Brawler and TK Novice is the absolute worst portion. Once you train the TK Novice box, however, you will notice a large difference (and it only gets better).

While not certified to use a VK you will want the fastest possible one you can get your hands on, and even when certified you will want to have it available until you gain a little more speed (though once certified it isn't as bad since you will be doing more damage anyway. I did all of mine with a 2.2 speed VK after hitting Novice, and used one that was 1.8 prior to Novice).

You mentioned that you have a full suit of composite armor. While not bad, you may want to get a set of Ubese armor for the grind as it will result in lower HAM costs (unless you are fully buffed and have food, in which case it really isn't necessary to worry about) which will make it easier as well.

Thanks for all this. The info is helpful. I only have the VK I do because I have been to several vendors looking for good ones and these are the best I found, on the Bazzar. I am going try BigE's vendor, but I have read all of this before. Ubese, speed slice .. yes all old news. Just haven't found what I am looking for on the vendors. Maybe it is just the month of December?

Hmmm, if you are novice then u shouldnt have too much trouble getting xp. What are your skills at right now? Do you have any boxes in tk yet?

Make sure you lvl up power tequniques first. This will enable u to do more dmj and thus get xp really really fast. At 0,0,4,0 u will be blowing through things at ease.

Fear not my friend! As soon as your pt hits box 4 you will be a killing machine. Keep at it.

Firstly welcome. Much of this is in the FAQ but as you said you needed a bit of clarifaction then I will post a bit to help you.

One thing I'm unsure of is what level are you, have you trained the TK Novice box or are you just filling it?

If you are just filling it make sure you get a speed slice on that VK, this will help alot, even though you are not certed it meens you use that speed & not that of your unarmed skill. I'd recomend something like Mountain Wart lairs on Tat for good xp, others recomend stuff like certain Bantha's, I think it's listed in the FAQ what's recomended.

If you have the TK Novice box then you still want a speed slice on that VK, as a 2.2 it is slow, untill you level a few boxes in power tech you will need this fast VK but you will have the damage bonus from the VK as well as your "Unarmed Damage" skill which adds to this. At this level you can do quenkers but I'm unsure whatpayout quenker missions are best to start with, I havn't done this bit in a long time (best part of 6 months at least) but I do have to do it again soon, untill I do I can't really be more accurate.

Either way you will often find that TK does seem slow to start with as unlike other proffesions we gain speed AND damage as we level, not just speed like other proffesions so we start off at a lower damage output. One thing to make sure though is that if you are hunting solothengroupa pet or droid, this will giveyou a small Xp bonus which may not seem much at the time but it adds up alot.

They key thing to do though if you are wanting to level fast is just stick at it, go up Power Tech. first & the xp will start coming quicker & you can move on to harder quenkers. Make sure you're grouped for the xp bonus (you only need to be grouped, the thing you are grouped with doesn't need to do anything or even be on the same planet). If you are not yet novice you might want to consider buying some "Rakririan Burnout Sauce" from a Chef, this will add around 24 to your Unarmed Damage & though it may not sound alot it does help at the lower levels.

Another thing to remember is that the Unarmed 4 to Novice TK is possibly one of the worst grinds in the game, it is pure murder as most TK's here will tell you, I've done it three times myself & am in the middle of doing it a fouth as I type, it never gets worse then that bit.

I hope this helps, theres full information in the FAQ I linked to which you said you are currently reading & this should just add to it a bit as you seem unsure on some parts.
