Thread: Questions about new TKA

Just filling up the TK novice block.
Oh, well you will see a MAJOR difference when you hit novice. You will be pleasently surprised!
The grind through Brawler and TK Novice is the absolute worst portion. Once you train the TK Novice box, however, you will notice a large difference (and it only gets better).
While not certified to use a VK you will want the fastest possible one you can get your hands on, and even when certified you will want to have it available until you gain a little more speed (though once certified it isn't as bad since you will be doing more damage anyway. I did all of mine with a 2.2 speed VK after hitting Novice, and used one that was 1.8 prior to Novice).
You mentioned that you have a full suit of composite armor. While not bad, you may want to get a set of Ubese armor for the grind as it will result in lower HAM costs (unless you are fully buffed and have food, in which case it really isn't necessary to worry about) which will make it easier as well.

I apoligize to the moderators before hand that this is another should-read-the-faq-post. I do, and am. I am just looking for some validation as something I am doing seems to be not working.
I am sure that subject has been already gone over, so if you want to just leave a link feel free. I just know a lot has changed lately in the combat of the game. Lately the ground game has been driving me crazy. I recently made TK and I am in the Novice block. Damage is non exhistant, and so then is xp. it was a long hard traveled road through brawler, and I stuck it out in hopes that it is going to get better/more fun.
I have a suit of composite, sometimes wear everything but the pants, and fight buffed and unbuffed, on Tat and Dant mostly. Regardless of whether I am buffed, or not, fighting for xp is slowly wearing away on me as a time waster. The first thing I did was join a guild thinking that might help my leveling up.
The quenkers take awhile for me alone. At what level are they supposed to be the xp place to be? I only have spin attack 1 and unarmed hit 1, etc. 2.2 speed VK. Other proffesions, ranged, melee, are making a lot more xp per kill and I am feeling left behind. So links to other posts still relevant or andy help with xp, money making, would be appriciated. My other ground professions are scout 3X1X, medic 333X.
Firstly welcome. Much of this is in the FAQ but as you said you needed a bit of clarifaction then I will post a bit to help you.
One thing I'm unsure of is what level are you, have you trained the TK Novice box or are you just filling it?
If you are just filling it make sure you get a speed slice on that VK, this will help alot, even though you are not certed it meens you use that speed & not that of your unarmed skill. I'd recomend something like Mountain Wart lairs on Tat for good xp, others recomend stuff like certain Bantha's, I think it's listed in the FAQ what's recomended.
If you have the TK Novice box then you still want a speed slice on that VK, as a 2.2 it is slow, untill you level a few boxes in power tech you will need this fast VK but you will have the damage bonus from the VK as well as your "Unarmed Damage" skill which adds to this. At this level you can do quenkers but I'm unsure whatpayout quenker missions are best to start with, I havn't done this bit in a long time (best part of 6 months at least) but I do have to do it again soon, untill I do I can't really be more accurate.
Either way you will often find that TK does seem slow to start with as unlike other proffesions we gain speed AND damage as we level, not just speed like other proffesions so we start off at a lower damage output. One thing to make sure though is that if you are hunting solothengroupa pet or droid, this will giveyou a small Xp bonus which may not seem much at the time but it adds up alot.
