Hi.
I'm a BH who was thinking of picking up some TK to fight Jedi. If I took, 0/4/0/0 for the dizzy/knockdown attack, would it even effect Jedi?
Or, a total waste of skillpoints...?
How about non-Jedi pvp? Is that enough to knock people down?
Thanks in advance.

Yes and no. If they have the defender state resist line you will be hard pressed to dizzy/kd them. But then, even if you do, many Jedi are using the FoTM template of master lightsaber, master enhance, 4004 healing. With xxx4 healing Jedi can instantly cure any states applied to them, and, unlike regular professions, then can do so while knocked down.
So, yes, unless they have the state defense mods from defender, you can put states on them easily, but then they'll probably be able to cure it. Most Jedi will likely have one or the other(or both).
That said, applying states on a Jedi is also a good way to beat them. If the Jedi isn't careful, they can very easily burn up their force by constantly healing the states you apply to them. If they are a Light Jedi Knight and have state healing though, just forget about it O.o
For regular professions, yes it is effective, but if they have Doctor heal states there is a bug they can use to cure themselves of dizzy, and many, if they see a tka coming, will take anti-knockdown food.
Yes, it does work, but you'll probably find dizzy plus a posture change(like lunge 1) more effective than dizzy and knockdown.

Jedi have practically nothing when it comes to defenses (other than ranged and melee defense). The only way for a Jedi to get defenses against KD and such is to get some skills from something like Fencer. You'll find Jedi will be easy to do KD+dizzy (if you can get to them before they kill you with Force skills or their saber).

State defense only goes up to +65 by the way, which isn't all that great...

Yeah, jedi's are very easy to kd/dizzy. But you pretty much have to keep spamming it to keep up with their healing until they run out of force. However, if you plan on doing a kd then switching back to your LLC forget it. They can heal state, get up, and slice you in half with the new 3 second delay.

Yes they do, and dark jedi occur a penalty, a 2x force cost penalty infact

Which is rather unbalancing, considering all knights are practicly forced into the same FOTM template in order to accumulate FRS exp, the mods from the dark jedi FRS enhance offensive powers from the force wielding tree, which is useless atm. Light jedi get bonuses for heals and protective abilities. Theese mods do not affect lightsaber attacks

Also the regen rates and force pool size is larger for both sides. The higher your rank, the larger your force pool and regen.
And yes, the state defense for Jedi isn't that great, with the single exception that that one line gives them +65 defense vs. all states. They also have the force defense vs states power that adds an extra +15 defense vs. everything for 15 minutes. So all told thats +80 defense vs all if they have that enhancer power and defender line. +80 def vs. is pretty effective.

Is there a timer on TKA knockdown, as in it can only be effective every 30 seconds? Also, is there a timer on dizzy? When I was a BH using a carbine we had a timer on our knockdown.

trick is to start spamming UA dizzy when they're down...if they heal and get oc, try some UA c1 for damage then restart with kd/dizzy lunge
if they get up while still dizzy try to lunge em...KD is on a timer

Most Jedi in Kauri I now use Thakillo [sp] which adds +XX do your defense vs. KD. I've seen +81 thakillo, so if taken it'll be a lot harder.
