Yep you heard right and rush to your local dev tracker board for the new post of from TH. The Combat Upgarde ETA is less than a year. Yea though the combat has been promised to be fixed since launch we get to look forward to yet another year before it actually is.

Why are you suprised the devs have been giving us grade a BS about the combat revamp/rebalence since jan 04 lets all be honest anyone whos been playing for any length of time believes a thing the devs say, and as for thunderhart, damm if he dosnt go in to politics as a spin doctor soon i'll be suprised he has the ability to almost seem sincere while at the same time giving no real information,
yes this was abit of a rant but nothing I have said can be disproved

Oooohhhhhhh!!!!!
"You wouldn't like me when I'm angry..."
Yes, you did say it first. Some people just don't pay attention unless multiple people say it

if it were only a few months away then why say less than a year? Nobody talks like that. If you think something is going to take a a cpl days you migth say less than a week. If something is going to take a cpl months you say well we're looking at a cpl months not "less than a year." Now let's be honest if SOE knows it will be 6 to 9 months away would they honestly come out and say you know its going to be 6 to 9 months away..... NO because all the people waiting on the revamp would quit and come back 6 months later. This way they make you think it could be just around the corner keep you hanging on paying that subscrioption each month when they really know how long its going to take. They've been doing it since launch I have no reason to believe that they are not doing the same with this new statement. You can believe its just around the corner but someone who believes something is a few months out do not say "less than a year."

Dont listen to him guys, this guy has been making similiar posts all over...including the commando forums.
Pessimistic attitude never helps to get things done. Yes, to some its a waste paying $15 a month to just simply wait...well the game just isn't all about content....but it is starting to wear some players down. The CURB has to come fairly soon, but in excellent form thats well balanced...

Yes, I'm willing.
If they're just starting the ALPHA phase, how the hell can you expect the CU to be ready in a month?
This is a huge overhaul of not only the combat system, but everything combat-related. It's not like the game has been neglected -- there have been fixes, patches, new content (quests, the DWB), and a huge ground-breaking expansion. Some of us have played this game for over a year. If we've waited that long, and you've only been playing for five months and want it NOW, I think you need to find a game that provides instant gratification.

Not to mention, on I believe the smuggler's forum under this same post...in a very nice reply clarifies TH's response better:
Essentially TH defined "soon", and implies that they can't possible supply an accurate ETA. If everything goes as planned (id say 90% is, only a few things some of us have not liked so far...and that has great potential to be corrected IF needed...we're just unsure IF it can work)...and nothing pops up that needs A LOT of time to re-code and revist...then yes, the CURB will take longer than expected.
Why? The devs will actually revisit and FIX what is wrong, rather than pushing it out to live BROKEN/in need of some fixes...and thus potentially unbalancing everything AGAIN! Pray nothing like this happens...as so far in Pre-Sandbox review, it hasnt.
Its tentative and is solely based on sandbox tester feedback (the timeline for all this)

Correction there Vriko I have been playing since late January 2004 a lot longer than 5 months. Its at 5 months I came to the forums after a broken smuggler revamp promise.

I can't think of any MMORPG that bothered with a major revamp of anything. They just wait 5 years for the sequel to fix things.

It might also be next month. What he said is that it would be "less than a year, but longer than a mini-publish". Mini-publishes can come out what, two weeks from each other? I know this thread and many others are created with no other purpose than to say "look how the devs are screwing us over again", and I'm not arguing that point specifically, but you *REALLY* took the glass-half-empty view on this one.
(I didn't one star you, by the way.)
