The Kiters are back! Hopefully the dev's will work on that if not I've got Low blow with smuggler and that will help. In regards to us vs. mellee after dueling for several hours I've have found that I win about 75% of the time against other master mellee's and I was never very good at the old version of PVP.

I'm not entirely happy either, but there is some cause to keep TKA:

• You don't need armor! Why is that so good. Talk to some friends that need it. It decays about four times faster (if not more) than it used to. The increased complexity and resource requirements are driving up prices. And forget factional armor--the idea was nice, but the costs involved are so high that it makes it impractical.


• You don't need weapons! Most of them aren't working anyways.


• You can heal your own wounds, something that only doctors can do now (you can't even pick up some medic to do this).


• You can give yourself a half way decent buff using powerboost. And it seems like powerboost lasts longer than it used to.

If you don't like the fact that TKA is entirely defensive (which was intentional), then pick up a profession to complement it, like fencer or CM. You can also purchase a pet with a ranged attack and have it dish out damage while you tank (sort of the opposite of what a CH would do). This trick also works well with factional pets (which tend to dish out more damage). And as long as you're tanking, your pets take little to no damage. If you find your pets suddenly taking damage--taunt, taunt, taunt.

I personally took CM as the profession to complement TKA. I will have my pet attack, run in and taunt, knockdown, paralyze, knockdown again, and start poisoning and diseasing my opponent. Very effective. And CMs don't need packs to do their specials anymore.
