I am an aspiring zabrak novice TKA as of now. I know its not thee race to choose for tka but what can I say, chicks dig tatoo's

I was just wondering what experienced TKA players would suggest for stat settings/armor.I currently have the following

1150 health

500 strength

300 constitution

1050 action

450 quickness

300 stamina

650 mind

300 focus

700 willpower

I currently wear no armor because the encomberences are a bit intemidating but currently I am just not cutting it as a fighter. I am also a pistoleer and medic, one of the reasons I set my constitiution and stamina to 300, I usually use stim packs to heal up quite frequently and with 700 willpower it doesnt really effect the mind pool at all. So what I want to know is if someone out there has a more efficient stat/armorcombo or perhaps a good idea of what one would be. A couple people have told me to invest in good chitin but the ham costs seem high and I rather not go spend 40K+ credits on a whim to "try it out" if I dont have to. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

You'll want more Health/Action, I think with 1200/1000 and the sub-attributes at 500 you'll be doing fine. Mind and its subs are really the least important for you.

id have to disagree and say if your not doing pvp atm then youll need alot of mind and action and not so much str so that you can use knockdown alot while out xping. knockdown uses alot of action so max taht out and keep your mind high as well espeacially if your a medic aswell.there i said it please dont flame if you disagree

Hmm, never had any issues with low mind when solo-hunting for experience. Might be different for the sort of critter you are hunting.

i am a zabrak tka and have VERY similar stats. IMO f armor. it sucks for a tka. armor makes your special move cost jump significantly. i used to use armor all the time. its just not worth it for a tka. esp chitin. chitin is not that good.if anything i'd say get ubese. but i highly suggest staying away from armor. get clothes with skill mods once they fix skill mods.

Good HAM chitin (sliced) wouldn't be all that bad. All you really need is the leggings and/or breastplate because most creatures that I've encountered hit the legs for action hits.

Mind isn't important if you are hunting creatures. If you are hunting PCs then mind is UTTERLY important. As TK, make sure your action-substats and health sub-stats are pretty high so you can regen your pools and perform actions that will then require less HAM.

FYI, as a zabrak, his secondary mind stats that he has listed are already at thier minimums.

I am realizing pretty quickly that armor is no no for tka and if that ends up being try I am kicking myself for not going wookie in the beginning since they get all those nice stat bonus's

I'm a wookie TKA and a CH and I get my butt kicked a lot.
But I learned today to keep my Vibroknuckles unequip'd during my initial onslaught (blind/stun/intimidate) and then equip them.

ok, so whats the general consensus on armor type? I am going topick up my first set and am torn between a full or full minus helm set of chitin OR ubese. Which will work bettergiven the ham costs?

Raise your Mind...As a master medic, for 100 or so mind, you can heal 600+ health AND action with a good Stim C. The only limiting factor is the delay on healing and your mind pool.

Well, for a diffrent oppinion on armor, haveing gained a fair lump of cash from the Baz Nitches recently i deceided to invest some in armor, just to try it out. Bought some 27% kenetic Chittin and i love it.. i think i'd rather leave my VKs at home than my armor.

People seem to have diffrent experiences with the encumbrace costs of useing armor.. im haveing no problems at all.

If you do decide to try out armor i'd surgest that you a) set up a small amcro to equip and unequip it. After the fight, while running to the next mission or whatever, take it off so you get full benefits from you natural regen. When the fights about to start, tab you hotkey, and your ready to go. As said i really dont see the encumbrance cost being any problem though i do make a point of always unequiping my vk's before useing knuckdown or another special, with that i can fight a full fight against a red con monster (fx. Nym's) and not lose more than a sliver of health/action to from the special moves. The good side of it is that you damage drops a lot. with the 27% armor im useing i typically see about 60-70% reduction in damage (it tells you how much you were hit for and how much of it was absorbed)

Millage may vary and a lot of people prefer to fight without. Personally im a very happy armor user.

As for what armor type, the important part is not so much the type but the stats of the individual pieces. For PvE kenetic damage tend to be by far the most common, so look at what the diffrent pieces offer and use that as a guide rather than the name of the armor. a 20% vs. Kenetic Chittin will give you better protection than a 10% Composite. Also drop by the armor smiths boards and look at some posts.. the people over there is more than happy to explain and surgest given the general sceptisism surounding armor
