Ok, I'm a Master TKA on Gorrath, and that's all I have worked towards since day one, but now that I'm here, I have no idea where to turn next. Sugestions are what I;m looking for, ideas of what to invest my remaining skill points in. I was thinking since I'm one of the most powerful melee classes in the game, I might as well now go for the most powerful ranged in the game, but my problem is, What is the most powerful ranged?

Also, I was thinking about doing a hybrid class, like Commando/Bounty Hunter/Smuggler, although I'm not sure, as I said before, what are your ideas, or what has worked for you?

Thanks,

Since I'm not a heavy PVP'er, I'm going Ranger.

I love the idea of making big camps, run fast, and can (if I want) go undetected.

Scout tree must be the easiest tree ever too. I used three-four hours to Master Exploration, Trapping and Hunting.

Now I have to grind my way from tier one in Survival. After that I'm a Novice Ranger!

heres my schematic for a good class setup

Doctor (get ressurect, tier 4 medicine)
Master Teras Kasi
Pistoleer (get all the +melee and +ranged defense points plus pistol whip and a few bleed shots)
Smuggler (Slicing and Dirty Fighting)

so you can hack your terminals for more money, hack any magSEAL boxes you find along the way, beat the cr-a-p outof any creature in the game, then completely trash people in PvP with pistol whip and superior ranged skill, not to mention low blow and such; also have the ability to heal +2000 health in a single use of a Stim D-E, inflict disease, and so much more;

Thanks!

Revised, actually took real skill points into consideration

Master Teras Kasi Artist (badass arsenal of close range attacking)
Doctor, with wound treatment four (saves your a-ss a lot and your friends asses, makes for better raids and such).
Smuggler with tier 3 dirty fighting (low blow/panic shot/does same thing for below skills but all 3 help alot).
Pistoleer with intermediate pistol special abilities (pistol whip/help you survive long enough to get in close range, whip them down and go to town with your vibro).

Until the they actually fix the commando class, don't do it. Save yourself the pain and avoid commando profession at all costs. I'm currently a commando and have been one for a long while but have not had the weapons to even advance (heavy weapons exp) and even if I did, the weapon skills are so gimped you're going to cry. A pistoleer can easily take you out in PvP pretty easily and you're not going to outdamage the Sharpshooters in your group who do 1800+ dmg.

I've pretty much decided to drop my entire ranged attack group and focus on TKA, Ranger, and Artisan (for surveying in very remote planets and getting uber resources for my wife)

But then again, the devs have stated that they will completely "rehaul" the commado class, whatever that means. Not sure how long that's going to take, either.

Well, I hit master about 5 days ago with Master Brawler and Master Medic as support. Since then I have been tooling around exploring, doing the silly npc quests, and joined a faction and have been doing destroy missions.

These destroy missions make me feel like I *suck* as a master tka as I get 3-4 white con stormtrooper kiting me all at once, blowing the snot out of me. I knock one down, start to pummel him, and his buddies run in happy circles around me firing madly.

Sometimes I win, often I lose in this situation. It's not always this bad, I just have to avoid stormtrooper camp destroy missions I guess. I have also taken to wearing some high quality (26-30% blast resist) bone armor - even just the helmet to these missions to save my mind pool some wear and tear.

I am waiting for th ebig patch, but i have been canibalizing skills now in preparation for dropping master brawler (I'll really only miss unarmedlunge2, intimidate2 and berserk1&2 (increased chance to use either with MB).

Why drop MB? Been working on Doctor now in the hope that buffing my stats to obscene levels will help me fight humanoids better. I'll still get kited, I'll still have to chase them around knocking them down several times before I can take them out, but hey, I figure at least I'll be able to style nonstop and buff the heck out of my action and health pool.

Waiting on the major patch beforeI drop MB first as it was SUCH a pain to earn.Mastering one brawler skill is painful enough, let alone all 4 of them. I'd never want tohave to do it again. If you ahve MB, I am sure you understand. The patchmight fix the problem with Doctor buffs. They now drop when you cross any server boundary - like when you leave a city. Not exactly useful for the happy wandeirng across desolate planets I am used to.

If I wasn't doing doctor I'd most likely drop MB anyway and pick up either a gun skill or an artisan profession. The original poster was right, when you arrive at master there doesn't seem to be a lot to do other than pvp (I found it got silly quickly - if I got in range, they were dead, but then they'd come back and kill me with their free kill card - tef on me). I got mind shotted, hit in the head with 2 handed weapons etc so much I could tell even being a master doctorpvp would be just as futile. I could have2500 pools in health and action and sustats of the same, but they'd still ping away at my mind pool until I fell over. Can't buff that so folks will always concentrate on mind pool if they can, whether you are a doctor or not. It's really the easiest kill there is.

So yes, I agree, it's time to pick up a second profession that will either help you as a master tk (as I M hoping doc might with the buffs) or a ranged profession so you can do better in pvp or an artisan profession so you can start crafting things. Doc is kind of fun, a bit of both, lots of crafting, the chance to do a good deed - healing folks at the med facils, and hopefully someday the buffs will be worth using, if only in pve where I can slap on a good helmet and go to town chasing stormtroopers around like something out of an old Benny Hill episode.
