This story may be an exception because I know not all mobs behave this way, but it's pretty good:

I decided to try and take on a Fambaa to see what a tough creature is like since the last nerf. I'm a master TKA and master CH so I had 70 levels of mereks and one rifleman with me, the Fambaa conned blue.

First I tried without the pets, not much luck. I started with a KD but 3 swings later the Fambaa was hitting me for 100+ (i have 750-900 HAM). These buggers move away from you too so I kept getting "That target is out of range" as it continued punding on me. I ran around after it, getting a few hits in and I must say I like the increased damage. Not that it did me much good. Incapped.

Fine I says, thats a tough creature. Maybe I shouldn't be able to kill it (or anything else). So the next time I let loose the pets, BUT with me tanking for them (they aren't just pets, they're my friends). Aproximately the same result. We get a bit more damage in, I can't defend myself, it dizzies me, I fall down, I get capped.

Alright tough guy I says, I have some tricks up my sleeves. So I tanked again and let loose a flurry of blinds, stuns, intimdates, you name it. Finally I have the upper hand. Nope, it moves away from me, and I can't force it to kneel to catch it cause the timer hasn't come off, all the while it is still hitting me somehow. BUT, i run after it like a madman, healing myself as I run, and manage to kill it.

Really my only option was to send the pets in first. Boring. And I feel bad for pistoleers too. What would they do? Bleed it and run around kiting it for a while? FUN.

The moral here is that this is not fun. It was frustrating as hell. What do I do in a group hunt now? I KD once, get wailed on for 25 secs, deal out a lot of damage and suck up everyone elses XP, and then havea 2min downtime afer, if I make it at all. I'll give this a try and see what happens but I really feel this timer is the last straw. Don't even get me started on the experiments I was doing with a novice pistoleer. I got OWNED.

Add me to the list of whiners if you will, but this is a true story, and sure its a tough creature, but 50% of the creatures are this tough and aggro in many places. It's just not my idea of fun. Feel free to agree or flame. I just personally don't enjoy this.
