I had the unfortunate experience of fighting a smuggler/pistoleer/TKM and I must say that its virtually IMPOSSIBLE to defeat this person.

We started the duel right next to each other, I opened with KD2 (resisted) he followed with panic shot (10 second delay)

Then he popped a bleed on me, and KD'd me. Remember Im still trying to knock this guy down.

Nedless to say..... 12 KD2's later and 12 resists, (he knocked me down twice btw) I died a horrible death.

So if theyre going to boost Pistol melee resists, wouldnt it seem prudent to seperate the melee and ranged defenses? IE: unarmed or wielding a mele weapon, apply melee resists only....

Wielding a pistol, apply Pistol resists.

I fear making these 2 classes stack defenses will only promote more dabbling, which SOE apparently hates (see BH, CH nerfs).

Flame me, I really dont care, but this combination with doctor/dancer buffs will be the ultimate PvP template.

Not sure I'm following you. If I master tk and I master pistoleer, you consider that to be dabbling?

Pistoleer is a runaway train as I see it, but **edit** do I know?
My suggestion though... be flexible. If he resists a kd twice, don't follow it up with 10 more. Go for a blind or stun, try intimidate, and also try running. If you can get behind a wall and get some meds into you, the bleed won't kill you and he'll have to come find you.
Good luck anyway. Why exactly a pistoleer gets a melee defense is beyond me. Blasters are very lousy clubs.

Yeah I don't understand how being a master tka and a master pistoleer counts as dabbling either. And to be honest I would expect a master TKA/doctor to be extremely formidable as well, maby it was a fair fight and you were just beaten by the better player?

i think he's trying to say, that the pistoleer and TK defenses stacked up, but what do i know? they fixed that already.

He never said Master pistoleer, he said smuggler/pistoleer/MTKA combo, referring that this person dabbled in Smuggler and Pistoleer tree, but was a Master TKA. Either way, I also thought they fixed the defense stacking bonus's

This is working as intended. The only things that do not stack, are the things that say they only apply to one form of combat in the name (unarmed toughness and two handed weapon speedfor example).

hehe. like they say, the grass is always greener on the other side. tho i admit this is a very powerful template, NO ONE is invincible. at the highest of levels, pvp is sorta like a game of rock, paper, scissors. there's always a profession/template that could beat another. for instance, i've had a lot of trouble vs TKA/CH/medics. if i tka against them, they could easily counter with TKA WHILE their pet aids them. also, if i go gunfighter/smuggler moves, they could easily drop me with the right pet. i'm not saying i can't beat tka/ch/medics, cus i have before but, there is no one uber char template(except for maybe jedi). there's always a template yours is weak to, and sometimes a smart player behind it to make them even more difficult. either way, there's no such thing as an ultimate pvp template.

I agree to totally. If you want to be the ultimate PvP master and get upset if you loose stop PvPing and go look for Holocrons.
