Thread: Question for TKA/Riflemen
After much internal debate I've decided after mastering Teras Kasi that I will go rfleman instead of doctor. I've found that with powerboost and crates of food, I can sufficiently buff myself to do anything I want. Doctor buffs are easy enough to find; I shouldn't need to master an elite profession just to get this benefit. I decided to take up a ranged profession instead, and rifleman looks the best to me.
I'm looking for advice from those who mastered TK first and then leveled rifleman. From reading the rifleman boards, they like to level by sending in a pet and using area of effect attacks. We are unique, however, in that we are not helpless when something gets in melee range and we have dizzy/kd. I was thinking that maybe doing missions to kill stormtroopers would be the best way to level rifle. I could dizzy/kd them all unarmed and then finish them with the rifle. I'm a little worried that I will do too much unarmed damage to getdecent rifle xp. Is there any way to use the TK skills to my advantage in leveling rifle skills? Any thoughts or suggestions?
I have over 200,000 combat xp saved up from farming cash on Dathomir as a Master TK. Should I use that to get ranged support or go straight for the 4th tree in rifleman?
Thanks in advance.
I forgot to mention that I'm dropping CH completely when the big patch hits. I'm shooting for :
Master Teras Kasi
Master Rifleman
Marksman 4/0/0/4
Medic 2/0/4/0
Scout 1/0/0/0
Hm, I've done it the other way around. I was a Master Rifleman and took up TKA.
My template is:
Teras Kasi Master
Master Rifleman
Master Marksman (For the +5 rifle speed in the master box)
Medic 1,0,0,0
Brawler 4,0,0,0
I'd suggest to get a good Laser rifle and get your first xp by using the mindshot/warning shot trick. Switch between the laser for good bleeds and then a fast CDEF for the low ham cost warning shots.
I don't know how the easiest way is to level with TKA as I did it the other way around. But I only used my rifle to get Novice TKA and then I only used unarmed for the rest. The same can be done with rifle I guess, just don't know which path is the faster.
Going up the rifleman skill tree: Get Interm Concealment to get /concealshot, so you can shoot at creatures w/o them knowing you are there. If the creature is a BAF(Bring A Friend) type, then you can use your TKA skills & the other one you aggroed will still be there to /concealshot to death.
In the first 2 months of the game, I mastered both professions, & did TKA first. And w/ rifleman, I went up the sniping tree to get HS3, then got /concealshot & mastered the countersniping tree.
My template has been for 4 months now:
Master TKA
Master Sharpshooter
Scout 3/0/0/0
Medic 0/0/3/0
Brawler 4/0/0/0
Artisan (survey for my alt lol)
3 skill pts left
Also, the +5 you get from Master Marksman, jus buy a few skill tapes, that's what I did
Ranged Support in Marksman are not worth it to me in PvE because I mainly used /concealshot & had TKA to cover me if something came at me. There's no need to /warningshot any creature.
