Guys many of you know me...and even though my account ends next month and I havent played in 2, I still like to visit the forums and help when I can...while I can.

I have been a TKA since...oh, March of 2003. So I would like to think that I have some experience and weight in this profession.

I have never been a holo grinder and never will be becasue I hate all the other professions...except Creature Handler which I have also mastered. I have stayed true to this profession since day whatever and will quit this game next month as a TKM.

I have seen us get nerfed, fixed, nerfed and fixed again. I would like to think at this point we are close to where we need to be in this game. Although I would like to see FOW get some tweaking I think on whole we are the most "working" profession out there.

Which brings me to my point. If many of you can remember people like me, Val, Keev and many others used to come into these posts daily and post legitimate, researched proposals for this profession. We were all in one achord on the subject matter and we flat stuck together even though we disagreed on some details. The fact is...we got stuff done in this forum because so many of us were life TKAs and knew what the hell we were talking about. Whether it was KD timer not being long enough or Unarmed COmbos not being effective or Specials taking too much HAM...we got stuff done.

If you remember, so many of the other forums were attacking eachother and calling for nerfs while we stood in the background getting the proper tweaks. Then once we got fixed, people began to respect the Melee class like never before. Then what happens? HOLOCRON GRINDERS.

Ladies and gentlemen these guys are a plaugue to ALL the combat professions. They are not loyal to anything but their own ambition and know nothing about the professions they play. They spend maybe a month in the profession, get beat in PvP and then all hell breaks loose and all we see is "Nerf The TKA".

Quite frankly, I am sick of it. I am beginnig to see that almost every thread that praises TKA or refutes any new nerfs gets One stared by these freaking trollers becasue they cant get the simple fact in their head that they cant stand toe to toe with us. We are not over powered and we are not broke....please go back to your holo grinding and stay out of our forum.

This forum is not meant for nerf calling and kill TKA seekers. It was meant for the legitimate discussion of TRUE TKA players to come into a forum and discuss their loved profession. WHat it has become now is a forum of one star ninjas and nerf herders and I am sick of it.

I hope that the DEVS can tell the difference between a true TKA and a holo grinder who gets beat by us becasue he doesnt know his art. You can tell a nerf herder by these sinple rules.

1. If he or she just started appearing here recently and have not been on these forums before. (Holo grinder)

2. If that same individual posts mostly in his or her TRUE profession forum alot...like commando or the like.

3. If the idiot forgot to change their signature block to say TKA instead of Combat Medic...then comes in our forum saying he or she has been a TKA from the get go and thinks "we" should get nerfed........I see these guys alot.

4. If they call for nerfs in more than one forum for more than one profession.

5. If they call for a nerf at all on another profession......(Think about it...how many people are going to ask to nerf their own profession?)

6. If instead of bringing legitimate reasons why we are over powered they make outlandish statements like "KD'd from 50M away" or "I saw a TKM kill 15 Stormtroopers and not even get hurt"......ya know who you are.

Anyway..lets take back our profession and our forum......I am leaving next month but I still Love you TRUE TKAs and hope you all the best.

Xeonus, while I am not in any hurry to see the TK profession nerfed, I think you have things completely backwards.

As someone who has never played another melee (or combat class, apparently) you are not really in a position to compare TKs to other classes from an objective viewpoint. If anything, Hologrinders *may* be the most qualified to speak on balance, because they have presumably seen things from many perspectives. They may lack the depth of experience that you have, but they have far more bredth.

I don't think it even takes a rocket scientist to see that when a pikeman loses to a TK, it's not about player skill but the complete inequity between classes. That doesn't mean that TKs are overpowered, per se, unless pikeman are "just right." But the fact remains that just because someone lacks 8 months of experience as a master of their profession it does not mean that they can't draw valid conclusions.

I use the pikeman class as an example because it's the most extreme case of a combat class having the shaft, but you can find advantages in any comparison between TKs and other classes. It's just a matter of whether you think those advantages are outweighed by the disadvantages (lack of range, lack of bleeds, lack of damage types, etc-- we all know the drill).

Personally, I don't think the professions will ever be balanced-- some profession will always be perceived as having and advantage or a disadvantage, and buffs and nerfs will follow in the wake of that perception. Frankly, the developers don't seem like very competent game designers, so we have to live with the uncertaintly of their collective vision.

I can speak from experience then on his behalf. I have mastered 15 professions.

TKA is not broken and doesn't need to be nerfed.

What NEEDs to happen before another nerf is that everything needs to be FIXED in other classes. I don't really care if I can change the color of my speeder. Fix the broken Carbine KD. Bring the other classes up to what they SHOULD be and then there is no need to nerf.

I think that if all adjustments are made downward, people will leave. Who wants to work hard to earn a profession just to have things taken away? No one - no one rational anyway.

Fix everything else before nerfing anything TKA.

The whole point of my entire post was this guys:

Nothing good can come from everyone screaming nerf. If your profession is lacking,,,(Presumming you have spent enough time in your profession to know what your talking about) then work together with your profession memebrs to get things changed or tweaked. All this nerf herding is old and stupid and it only causes people to get angry and quit.

NERF DOES NOT EQUAL FIX Ladies and Gentlemen!

We got things fixed becasue we made educated and legitimate points as to WHY we needed fixing. We didnt just fly off the handle and yell NERF EVERYONE!

I(f you are not TKA and you think we should get nerfed....try getting your profession fixed first. Nothing good will comne from nerf herding. Period.

And as for the guy who says holo grinders know better becasue they tried everything....not true. UNtil you have spend quality time in your profession and know how to use it then you are not in the know. I have to use different tactics in every situation out there. I have to use skills that only come from long time exerience to face MBH and MC and MCMs....I fight them all differently. Same as for PvE and PvP...you cant just Holo grind your way through a profession, mainly focsing on PvE and XP points and then trun around and say someone needs nerfing. You cannot know what you are talking about. Even if I did Master another profession...which by the way I was a Riflemen 3-4-4-3 in Beta before going TKA in Live......and tried to Holo grind it to Master only to drop it again for another profession, what makes you think I have spent enough time in it to say someone else needs to get nerfed? You cant......

Bottom line....get fixed...dont nerfherd.

A good way to see if a profession is overpowered is to see what you can combat it with.

For example - pure TKA can be easilybeaten by a Carbineer (with food or doc buffs due HAM cost) assuming starting at range.

For example - pure Carbineer can be easily beaten by any other eliteranged class, just don't try to stand up, insteadfire back.

For example - pure Combat Medic can easily be beaten by taking a Combat Medic and a Doctor along with you

Please note all except the last one can be achieved in multiple ways by multiple professions

I also have to diagree with the statement that Holo Grinders would know best as to what is up with what proffesion. The reason im saying this is because most grinders "appear" to be doing all this various proffesion grinding via a "macro", if you read their posts on it.

I also think that what this game needs is fixes not nerfs. To call a nerf on another class just iluminates oneself in a rather bad light. It shows that 1) you only care about yourself, 2) want instant gratification without having to actually work for something, 3) too inexperienced in your proffesion, 4) lack the intelligence or maturity that it would take to play your proffesion effectively, or 5) havent learned the fact that no one can win "All" of the time.

I just wished that they would create a rant forum called the Whine & Cheese Tasting forum and put it in the Cantina category. To go along with this all forum moderaters & proffesion correspondents would be able to take all these "whine/nerf" types of post & put them into this new type of forum, then maybe we could get some good, intelligent, and productive discussions going again, without these bothersome interruptions to our collective trains of thought.
