Thread: What do you do against root?

OK, I'm maxed out on XP. I'm bored to death with PVE. If I kill another bol, I'll slip into a coma.
I decided to try PVP again. First fight, some guy "roots" me, steps out of range and kills me (rather sadistically). How is that fair? How is it fun? It used to be that the ranged fighters would run from the TKs. It's US that needed some kind of "root" ability - but NO the rangers got it. Where's the logic in that?
I know it's gotten to be passe to rail against the devs, so can someone answer my question?
Is there some strategy against root? If not, I'll be even more bored running between cloning centers.
I'm holding that credit card in my sweaty fist. :-)

Survive until root breaks, then use the buildings to force them to come to you. It's kinda hard tho if you don't have some way to heal.

i was spammed it over and over in pvp, even at the entrance to the blackscale camp in pve, root after root really annoying, it should break if they hit you after its stuck, but its bugged. ive used a rifle while rooted, gives you something todo. should be able to spear people from 30m

I equip my clone rifle from the Bobba Fett quest and hit them for 100 points a shot. lol

I love getting rooted now. My template is:
TKM
Master Doc
And some Sword Boxes
I've got this great rifle that does over 1k max damage and it doesn't require any skills or certs. It always catches them off guard. I do a good 300 damage with it easily

the only problem i have with root really is chain rooting...
that is with 2 people spamming root at you you will most likely be rooted the entire fight
i got lucky my last fight got de rooted and killed the closest person to me.
being rooted makes you stand still for most of the fight doing nothing standing still.
and hell i can do that while i'm not pvping... very fustrating it is.

I pull out my 1100 laser rifle and KD them, then overcharge shot, Or I just stand there and chunk DOTs at them.

I pull up my fwg5 and uses my masterpistoleer skills combined with some smuggler skills and root and defuff/states them back! Then run in and TKA whoop and whips them until they die mwhahaha!
Tho the worst thing i can meet is a skilled Rifleman with good pvp skills from other profrssions and roboarms, have to try and change the fight in some other way, stepping inside buildings and such.

Same as several of the above..... equip of the the quest loots that hits for about 1K a hit!!! Bang BangYour gone!!!!!!! ha ha

healing abilities are very important to me when getting rooted, and the upcoming changes to healing just made surviving the root even better increased healing abilities and reduced cooldown timers!

I pull out a DL-44 and root them back, then show them what a cornered smuggler/TKM can really do. If they some how run out of range of the DL then i pull out a Bowcaster and show them what a Mad Wookie can do. And if they happen to have a range roboarm on.... well I find the closes Jedi and ask for help.
