What exactly does this do and how effective is it. I just starting TKA and was wandering if anyone could explain how it works and such to me.

It helps you recover from a posture change. It is checked after your defense vs posture change has failed. So you can more or less get up faster. As for being effective. It's a mixed bag. It is by no means immunity to napping on the floor during combat. It's just a small bit of hope that you might get up faster.
