Thread: Is armour REALLY that good?

As a wookie Master TKA I don't like the idea of people having REALLY good armour so I'm looking for ways around it but am stuck at work atm so can't test things out so I don't suppose any of you know if boots help much? I know a few races can't wear them but can wear the rest of the gear so was wondering if something like legshot would be the way forward to fighting them rather than using up all my ham attacking their 70% kinetic comp armour.

i think its obvious. in a pvp fight between 2 TKM, one wearing 80% kinetic armor and the other no armor.. with the unarmed toughness, melee damage mit .. the one with the armor win hands down.

i can take on a dozen of rancors and +with buff spice and my comp 80% (anyway all melee prof can tank that much, and i'd say a swordman or pikeman would kill the 10 rancor faster than a tkm).

Armorless wookies are permanently disadvantaged. If I have 80% resist to your damage, I can hit less than half as hard as you doand still win. "Better regen" (higher secondary stats) do not make up for the fact that any other race can wear 80% or better armor over most of their body.

Maybe so but what I was asking was if it was worth doing leg shots against people without boots such as Trandoshan commandos as they usually have the whole comp set on but can't wear boots so am wondering if it's an achilles heel or if the usual kd2 unarmed3 etc etc is still a better idea than going for kd then legshot.

I don't think legshot fires at the feet. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only spots targeted specials hit are the head, chest and legs. The arms and boots are just take dammagefrom the normal attacks. Looking back on combat spam thats the way it seems to me, anyway. I pvp a lot and don't wear anything but helmet, chestplate and legs and haven't noticed a difference from someone wearing a full suit.

If you're buffed the only pool that matters is mind, anyway.

I would agree with that statement only if Wookiees were given the same armor every other race has. Wookiee's know that if we got 90% composite, we'd be out of balance. We aren't asking for uber armor, just something to help balance us out. It doesn't even have to be armor, maybe a natural toughness or something along those lines. Other races can take much more of a beating than we can, we'd just like a level playing field.

Killing NightSisters yesterday, my Zabrak friend in full Composite was getting hit for 40-50 dmg. Me, I was getting hit for over 400 dmg...We just want to haveafair chance at tankability as anyone else.

I think the Ham and natural toughness of Wookies and to a certain degree, Trandoshans should be boosted. Wookies of course needing the biggest boost. Watching the movies I bet Chewbacca could take a few blaster bolts before going down, especially if in a wookie rage.

Wookiees have plenty of HAM. Just use it right, especially as a TK. Don't bother going all out on the regen stats, in fact, minimize them. Make sure your quickness and strenght are nice and high to keep special costs down and MAX THAT MIND BAR. Give yourselfs the uber boost you can with all those extra HAM points to apply all over the place.

And don't forget Wookiee are probably the best race to utilize spice, especially Pixie as you can actually have a natural HAM high enough to deal with that come down.

Sorry Wookiees, I hate to say it, but I'm sick of hearing how gimped you are because of lack of armor. I don't wear armor with my HUMAN non masterTK half the time and I'll take out quite a few ancient grauls solo at once. If I DO wear armor it's more because I expect to be out grinding alot and I want to minimize the amount of wounds I incur.
