as im working my way towards TKM, i'd like to end up with a good pvp template (and hopefully not one that sucks too much for pve, but TKM is good on its own). theres a couple of templates i have in mind, and if anyone could give some feedback on them, as far as PvP pros/cons, that'd be great.

TKM / M-Pistoleer / Smuggler (with 4-0-0-0 scout and 1-0-0-0 medic, unless theres something better)

TKM / M-Rifleman OR TKM / M-Carbineer (66 points left, not sure what to spend it on)

TKM / M-Brawler (with some medic and scout, not sure what to do with leftover points again)

Any input on some of these, or suggestions for others? I'm a trandoshan if that makes any difference.

it really depends on what your style of play is. Azu has a very versitiletemplatewhich is also great forlarge group pvp and good for smaller fights. I ran some tests the other day with him and still find my finalbuild slightly better for one on one (as I think his post in the other thread addresses)and still extremely effective for group pvp. Iwas a TKM, Blademaster (fencer), master brawler who could use stim Ds. Fencer has 2 area attacks which work in a conelike manner that can make up for some of the lack of range in group battles. This build also has a 20 meter KD, warcry2, and+105 dodge inter alia.

FWIW, I find thisbuild amazing for pve and 1 on 1 pvp and serviceable for group pvp if you play it smart and understand your limitations (or have enemies who do not understand your weaknesses). At the end of the day all classes will have a class that can handle them, but I did find that most people that had never encounteredthis particularbuild seemed very puzzled when confronting the funny looking unarmored zabrek with the novice brawler tag.

Sorry to say that I won't be meeting you on the battlefield again azu (although I probably will be giving the toon to a guildie if anyone wants it)...RL finally decided to reclaimthevast majority of my timeand I have found the game less compelling as the days go by. Look me up when EQ2 drops. I would like to attempt to make some time to see what that will be like and wouldn't mind seeing some of the better rebs and imps of chilastra meetingin a different context.

TKA+ Proper use of cover and terrain features.

No matter what combos I have tried, if I am in an 'open field' I can be kited. Therefore the best combination I have found is:

1) Don't charge. Sit in cover and let them come to you. If they won't...well, at least you are safe.

2) If they will not advance, retreat. Most often they will follow you into the maze of cover and you can use that to your advantage, or if in the open you can do a quick 180/burst run and perhaps get into range and do a KD/Dizzy on them before they realize you are both running at each other at breakneck speed. You would be surprised at how well that works...

3) If your oponent doesn't follow...combat over = survival. Don't charge across 70m of open expanse unless you just feel like giving away your faction points
