i see that it gives you melee damage mitigation 1

when you highlight the bonus it says damage from "melee weapons," does this mean you get melee damage mitigation from only humanoids using melee weapons e.g. knives, swords, pikes etc.

-or-

does this mean melee damage from any npc e.g. non-humanoid monsters etc.

the reason i am asking is because it seems you would save on armor and wounds etc. in all battles if you went ahead and took balance 1 vs. doing a straight up run through power 4

please and thanks!

i look forward to your response

It's melee damage. Weapons are either ranged or melee, so when you fight a PC or NPC, you can see what they're using, and will know. If they're shooting with some type of gun, it's ranged, not melee.

As for mobs, some have melee attacks, and some have ranged. Most have melee actually. If it has to run up to you and hit you from close range, it's melee. If they can stand back and spit at you or something like that, it's ranged.

so... no one thinks it would be better to take melee damage mitigation before going up the power tree?

everyone i have spoken to in game seems to think i should go straight up the power tree.

since i have only 20k until i get advanced power i will go ahead and take that, but i think i'll save my armor a bit and hit up intermediate balance before i grind out power3
