Hello to everyone. Im new in the game (just purchased it 2 days ago after playing the 14day trial version) and the main profession that im working on, is Teras Kasi. I would like to ask some questions regarding it:

1. Is armor helpful to a Teras Kasi artist or not? I have noticed that when i dont wear armor when fighting, my mind bar (blue) doesnt decrease as much as it does when im wearing armor. Also, what exactly does a kinetic armor do? Does it improve speed? I have an ubese 70%kinetic armor in my inventory.

2. The vibro knuckler from what i have seen, can greatly improve the speed of your melee character. Mine has a 2.2 speed (am i correct?) modifyer. The lower the rating is, the greater the speed is? Does the VK decrease strength in hits,in favorof speed?

3. Do other professions affect the efficiency of my Teras Kasi character? Im almost on mastering scout and i also want to do the ranger profession, BUT i dont have the brawler profession mastered. Is the mastering of that proffesion important to a Teras Kasi character (maybe because ofberserk2 and intimidate2)?

Thanks a lot for your time folks

1. Wearing armor will reduce the stats that help you "regenerate". While not wearing armor, you will regenerate faster, but you may take more damage. Wearing armor, you take less damage, but regen slower. Basically you have to find a balance that feels good for YOU.

2. Your VK will greatly increase your attack speed. You dont get the certification for VK until novice TKA. BUT. This does not stop you from using it while moving up the unarmed tree. In fact the speed increase from the VK will be so much so that even doing reduced damage (because you arent certified) you will still be doing much more damage than if you were fighting purely unarmed. The drawback to VKs is the HAM cost to use your specials. It uses your own HAM pools to do damage to the enemy. If you dont use a VK, there is no penalty. Most people moving up the unarmed tree still use the VK for the speed bonuses, and only sparingly use specials.

3. Berser2, Warcry2, Intimidate2 UnarmedLunge2, are all useful skills yes, but some people see mastering brawler to get these skills as a bit wastefull for your skill points that could be better served elsewhere in your skills rounding out your character.

I am a master TKA, I havent mastered brawler, and I dont use armor most of the time. This is just me, you will see other responses in sure... I hope this helped you..

armor will make your attack costs larger IF you dont have a buff that suits your armor.. if you get doctor buffs you will probably not lose any health and action at all, if you get mind buffs from dancers/musicians it can remove your costs on mind too (this is depending on your stat mitigation and the encum on your armor), but you can also use a drink called vasarian brandy which from good Chefs on servers with good resources will have a filling of 50(which makes you able to take 2 of them), have a time of 45min(which will empty you stomach before they run out, so you can take 2 new ones when they do) they will also give you a buff between 400 and 500(each one, so 800-1000 with both)! on my server these cost 150k for a crate of 25 with 21 uses in each. that is 525 buffs, 262,5 when you stack them 2 and 2. this is a price of 285,7 per use (which is really cheap for a buff like this)

Armor has good points and bad points. It decreases the amount of damage you take: If you are fighting creatures, you want high kinetic resists because pretty much all the creatures deal out kinetic damage. If you are fighting NPCs (humanoid creatures) you will want a range of resistances in your armor because they deal out all sorts of damage types. Personally I keep 2 sets of armor around. One setfor fighting creatures that deal out strictly kinetic damage. Ubese Armor works great because it is lighter than Composite (less encumbrance to your HAM pools) and can get very high kinetic resistances. I also have a set for NPCs. Composite is the best bet because it has resistances to everything except stun (unless a stun layer is added) and lightsabers. Composite is extremely heavy, so you will want to get buffs to wear a complete suit and still have enough HAM to use specials.

Using a Vibroknuckler while not a Teras Kasi novice is still very helpful. Especially if you can find one that has been speed sliced to under 2 seconds. The HAM costs for specials are a bit heavy, but if you are buffed it is no problem. I recommend using them at all times just for the fact that you will attack faster than if you are not using them. Just watch your special attack usage.

I have heard that mastering Brawler helps make a great Teras Kasi fighter. But personally I don't think it matters. I don't use Intimidate, Berserk or Lunge all that often as it is. Berserk doesn't let you use special attacks anyways. I would recommend saving the skill points and using them on adding a ranged combat profession. Some people like to add in a medical profession, but I say why? At Master Teras Kasi, you can heal your own wounds using meditation.

Anyways, that's my two cents.

And if you would like to know my character template, I am TKA/Smuggler/Pistoleer. It's a very fun combo.
