Thread: Well I decided to switch from BH to TKA...
I know... you're all gonna think I'm crazy, but I've been a BH (Carb/Pistol 4) for a long time now and it just isn't fun anymore. I've decided to switch to TKA (what I was planning before release but changed my mind at the last min) because it seems like it'll be more challenging in PvE and PvP. BH is really just too easy, along with most ranged classes. I've already dropped my BH skills so don't try to talk me out of it. =)
I worked my way up master unarmed in the brawler tree in a day (movingVK to TKA novice made it more of a pain)and I'm wondering what to hunt now. I'm having a tough time finding good monsters/npc's that aren't all aggro and social. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
When hunting alone, aggro and social can be a "good" thing.
The method:
1. Find your target critter type. (Preferably not ranged)
2. Make sure it's just the slightest bit away from the pack... IOW: If the critters are set in a square, the critters on the corners are your preferedtargets.
3. Move toward the critter cautiously, and as soon as it aggros...run (not burst run) in the opposite direction as far as you can before the sucker actually makes contact.
4. If you successfully got the creature out of BOF range, fight, pat yourself on the back....rise lather repeat.
The madness:
Most critters now are BOF enabled whether they are hostile or not. By hunting the hostile ones, you can get around it, by attracting a hostile creature farther than the BOF range before actually entering combat mode while targetting it.
BOF only works when your character has entered combat mode with a critter (IE: There is a goldenish boxy around the enemy) that iswithin a certain distance of another creature(15-25m) and has nothing to do with your character actually doing damage to the enemy.
You can try this yourself by going out unarmed to where you find two or three known BOF mobs. At a range of 64m...where there's no way of ever possibly doing damage with your fists...try "attacking" one of the creatures. All BUT the one you targetted for attack (since you were out of aggro range and didn't do any damage to it)will start moving your way with bloodlust.
Odd eh?
no, no armor. its not worth it.
i stick with non aggro non grouping creatures. plenty on tatooine. once u get knockdown *even though its nerfed* i fight greater dessert womp rats and mountain worts. they spawn next to lairs and in big numbers, worts dont aggro but greater dessert womp rats CAN, normally they dont attack me but they HAVE. it takes more time in between killing each critter (after nerf) but i get 1600xp per wort and 1800xp per rat. besides, they spawn next to cities *mos eisely is where i go* so its not far at all to get to med center star port or cantina....also there are lots of other players around usually, so you can make friends and chat during slow times, but not to many people to steal your xp.
but no...dont use armor. no matter what anyone says. any good higher level tk will tell you the same,.

This might not be valid anymore. Becuase the main reason no one wore armor as TK before was
1. Extrodinary HAM costs
2. They could completely avoid damage by keeping opponent knocked down
Now soon there will be a timer on knockdown, and ham costs will be lowered, Amor will probably be alot more viable for tks, I use it right now, altho im only a 0/4/2/2, maybe i just dont know any better.
