Start by doing missions like a #$#@er.
Imperial or Rebel missions eventually and do that until you get novice.
If you wanna be experimental there is an area in Mos Eisley where Desert Demons and Swoop Gang Members hang around and you can kill them for 400 a pop when you have unarmed IV. I don't play much so it took me a week lol.
