haha i am an old master at this profession as well.. i have been since 3 weeks after release of retail

so i have been there through all that as well..

truly PvP is the only place were TKM are getting the crap kicked out of them....

in PvE i am an untouchable god.. all i need is some buffs.. i dont need any armor or anything... as long as i got some buffs and some muon i can dominate any creature..

I have seen many changes for our profession. I have seen a time when we were little known, rare, and incognito. In october a steady influx of TKA have scoured the galaxy, some for the hologrind others to jump the band wagon. Back when i was a Novice brawler I embarked on my PvP skills. This was before VK's and buffs and armor. Combat in those days was fun. No 75% reduction. No bleed nerfs. No 8 meter range.

I excelled in PvP combat in those days. Not because we were over powered. But because the skills made sense and PvP made sense. Pistoleers were the FoTM in those days. Thier bleed stacks were awesome and could whittle down an opponent in no time.

These days. Tka is a mere shadow of the profession it was. This is due to spamming, which in my opinion was not the fault of the players but the fault of development. This was an unforseen side effect of our combat system. Now Tka alone is a joke when compared to other profession hybrids. TKA/Doc can beat the snot out of a TKA master brawler.

Fencers are on the rise now, because they have stun damaging weapons and super high defence mods. CoB has made them powerful as a master is untouchable vs a master TKA.

This is not to compare professions or the like... Not at all, this is merely a post to reflect on past patches and the games evolution.

I had always envisioned TKA as a combat profession that needed no armor, or weapons. However with the new things put into game like 90% bounty hunter armor, and janta blood. Doc buffs and armor will not be notched down. In the end I feel that our profession will have to take a backseat while pikemen and heavyswordsmen will be the more prominent professions in the brawler classes.

Im not wanting to hunt jedi, or Smack down the BH's. I just want us to be on par with the other professions out there. Currently we are not. Foods and armor has rendered us all but useless. Kiting has once again become an issue for us.

Gunners used to get upset because we could knock them down, but in my opinion that was our only safe guard to keep from being kited. Then we had the warcry from the brawler tree. That went south as well.

Im not sayin that we should beat everyone but what im sayin is that if a fight starts in our range.. It should end in our range.

Just my thoughts and reflections

I hear ya on that one. I used to be a master commando/TKM way back before any of the nerfs, and we used to be so much fun to play.Buffs were weak, VK's would kill the user, and composite armor was deemed to HAM intensive to even wear. I remember making macros to unequip my VK's, use a special, then reequip them. Those were the fun days, you actually had to use tactics, the spamming of unarmedhit3 with a pair of VK's would have you dead in 5 shots. In PvP kiting was the death of you, you had to usewarcry and KD's in conjunction with burstrun in order to stay alive. That was real fighting, none of this "every newb has a 85% set of composite." I miss those days, when NOONE could solo a kryatt, Nightsisters were really something to be feared, and it took a good group to do enraged rancor missions. Maybe one day they will rebalance things, or offer action on a nostalgia server...hell, I'd sign up.

I've noticed that most of the posts (hey that rhymed) on this forum are very PvP-oriented. I see TKM as being able to take on a wide spectrum of PvE creatures and npcs with little difficulty. However, the mobs that are meant to be group killed (the strong Krayts, Nightsister elder, anything on the Corvette) are practically out of reach for the TKM, due to high kinetic resists.

But, pit a TKM against a handful of rancors, a swarm of Dantooine cavemen, or whatever else, the TKM can rule supreme. Looking at it another way, to the new player or the unexperienced player, the TKM is a god. They can walk without fear in the places where these other players would most certainly die.

So, TKM is fantastic for most PvE. It should be balanced equally with the other professions in PvP.

Remember, after this Combat Balance, PvP as we know it (Armor/Buffs/stun/Mind damage/repeat) will be erased and changed to a new form.

But, I see your points, and you mean well. Thanks for sharing your point of view, i appreciate it

i've been playing SWG for about 2 months now, and i had a hard time figuring out what career i wanted to do, but this above quote explains my exact reasoning why i am currently working towards Teras Kasi Master. I don't care about PvP very much. I would rather go have fun in the caves that Previously as a Bounty Hunter I couldn't handle at all. This is so much fun running missions on Endor, and cleaning out Fort Tusken, and not running away from creatures that 2 or 3 weeks ago would have killed me almost instantly.
