Thread: Greeting TKM's Quick Question For You

I am currently a Master Bounty Hunter debating spending my extra points in Pistol 3/0/4/0 for the State Change and Dodge, or /0/0/4/3 for the Melee Defence. I figured it would be best to ask a Melee profession which would provide the best all around defence, I would have either 60 Dodge or 30 Melee defence. I know what dodge does as I have it now, I guess I am kind of clueless as to what Melee defence is for (beside making mele attacks harder to hit obviously).

My personal opinion is that you may get more bang for the buck out of dodge. The best melee defense is kiting and if you can stay out of range of a melee profession, you would not ever need your melee defense. Dodge, on the other hand, will work with all of your pistols, work with any posture, and work on a vehicle or mount. If you have a pistol equipped, I believe you can still dodge melee attacks.
Melee defense will make you more effective in PvE however.

For PVP most of the melee classes have pretty high accuracy modifiers...which is what the melee defense negates...+30 would not make up very much against our +205 to hit or a Swordsmans +120 even. But dodge on the other hand is a chance to not take damage, even ifa hit is landed. I would take the dodge...
