Thread: Soloing Question
I would use food buffs, power boost, etc. Its just that I dont want to be forced to go get doctor buffs just so I can solo something that is worth the trouble. I guess thats one of the things I dont like a whole lot about the game, all of the interdependence, I am a social player but most of the time I find I enjoy soloing much better than grouping...guess I like being able to set my own pace for hunting, and there is less chaos when I am hunting alone.
And I apologize if my questions are noobish. I just reinstalled this game 2 days ago after leaving for several months and deleting all my characters(restarting is fun :smileyindifferent
and even though when I played before I was half way to master ranger I switched combat professions so many times due to indecision Iam still inexpereinced with the higher end game.

Right now I am working my way up the unarmed brawler tree, but before I go any further I have a question. By the time you reach TKM, how well can you solo withoutdoctor buffs? I really dont want to be forced to rely on doctor buffs when I am hunting because ideally when I hunt I dont want to go back to town every however long they last to get more buffs, I would rather just stay where I am and hunt.
Well, unless you're in the habit of hunting for more than 3+ hours at a time, then buffs aren't a problem. Returning to town after 3 hours of real time isn't that big of a pain, in my opinion. It's not like you run a mission, return to town, run a mission, return to town, etc. Even if you're not running missions (just out wandering around hunting), a three hour span is almost more than my attention span can handle. But that's just me.
Powerboost lasts for about 10 mins (don't quote me, haven't timed it) without the downer of muon. Make an alarm timer to go off 8 minutes after you start your PB.
macro name: pb
/powerboost;
/alarmaddin 0 8 Powerboost is about to end.
This gives you time to try and finish that kill or run before it wears off and you get killed.
Have stims and use them as needed. Without buffs, you won't be able to spam your specials non-stop. For instance, when I hit my muon downer and my mind is low, I use berserk quite a bit. Doesn't hit the mind pool very hard and does better damage than the auto attack.
Also, if your mind starts to get low and your stomach is full while you're in a downer, unequip you vk's. I do this when my mind gets to about 50%. Damage is rather decent, allows me to use a few more specials than if I had the vk's equipped, and doesn't hit the mind as hard.
Hope this helps a bit.
