Out of curiousity... because I love roleplay and I have personally never fallen for the grinding-for-jedi fad, I have really enjoyed roleplaying a nice back story for my TKA.

I have a Dojo of Meditation on the player city Tirius, on Talus, on the Eclipse Server.

Just curious to know if there are any like-minded TKA's out there, who enjoy roleplaying theiir character.

If so, please feel free to add yourself to the Roleplayer Registry under the forums link on www.tirius.co.uk

Roleplaying is just about the only content in SWG. :-)

I am very new to roleplaying games. Other than Final Fantasy games, I've never really played any game that could be considered a "role-playing" game.

What exactly do you mean by "Do You Roleplay Your TKA?"

Sorry for the probably EXTREMELY n00bish question, but I'm just not sure...

roleplaying means that you act like youre a TKA. you research what exactly TKAs were and you dont say stuff that isnt in game. something like "DUDE DID YOU CACTH THE LAKRES GAME LAST NIGHT?!?>?/" isnt roleplaying, thats quite effectively, the opposite. You have to act like youre not playing the game, you act like youre in the game, and that in fact it isnt a game. its quite fun if others around you are doing the same, i had a lotta fun roleplaying on ultima online. ive found out that MOST people in SWG dont roleplay one bit. i try to sometimes, but its fun to play around

i have a problem with roleplaying my TKM ...

i have no idea HOW to really roleplay him there is alot of debat on how TKA actually exist in the star wars universe... so i pertty much just have to go on my own personal take of whati think they are...

and by all instances i just treat him like he is a shoalin master or at least something along those lines...

i have my own personal "dojo" if thats what you wanna call it outside of bestine out by itself on edge of a cliff facing towards the east...

I played the game since last July and quit in December do to it getting old and "grindy". At any rate I came back about 3 weeks ago and decided to solo around and roleplay. It definitely adds a nice dimension to everything. Trying to rationalize your actions within the storyline you've created for yourself. It's also fun when you run into someone out in the middle of nowhere and they ask you how long you've been playing the game or something like that and you respond with "What game?". The long pause after that when they realize you'reroleplaying is priceless. I highly recommend it.

i love the idea of a Dojo, in fact, last night i purchased a large generic house for that very reason. I want to have one of the smaller rooms a meditation type room, with lots of plant life and candles, and i want the large center room with the overlooking balcony to look almost like a training room. the only problem i can forsee is that i do not know of any type of furniture that i could use as mats on the floor, similar to how a karate dojo or school would be set up.

i am going to hang lots of melee weapons all over that large room, polearms, swords, daggars, ect... along with probably torches to light the main room.

so, does anyone have any suggestions for any piece of furniture that could be used to look almost like either a floor mat or a rug?

thanks.

I don't get a lot of chances to RP, but those chances I do get, I enjoy it. I got to do it for about 2 days in a row - that was kinda fun.

Played from login to log out with a few people I'd come across. Did a few emails back and forth. It was a blast.

i try my best to roleplay as much as i can during the times that im online

lately i have been in kind of a slump as far as ideas go then i decided to take on TKA and found a whole slew of ideas flying into my head.

i regularly meditate in the jedi temple on dantooine when im there

i use it IC as a way to cleanse myself of all the death and destruction i caused as a bounty hunter

Light and Dark are only words. Good and Evil exists.
They are the repercusions of choices and actions. The Force is one. It is Power Unlimited, It is Power Absolute.
Its infinite nature corrupts absolutely. Those who are sensitive to its flows, eddies and rushes be warned.
For all of you walk the line. Know your intentions, your actions and their impending consequence.
Remember, Choose, and Act.

I roleplay when convenient, and slip into game mode at other times. For instance, when hunting with a group, it's gameplay time with minimal RP (RP takes up too muchtime when a good ole "Ok, let's tap the lair so that more spawn" is much more succinct and useful)

Also, in /tells and any chat channels, all my messages are OOC. My RP happens in Spatial or in special /tell sessions specifically dedicated to RP.

My char on Starsider is a semi-retired but recently-activated officer in the Imperial Navy. He's been specially tapped by the Empire to take a look at the Nightsister "problem" on Dathomir (due to him apparently being somewhat resistant to Force powers), and is regularly sent there to quell uprisings and make sure the outposts are safe from Nightsister incursions. Ocassionally, he's also asked to cull the local rancor population, as they seem to have gotten quite a bit more "aggressive/enraged" in the past few months.

In game terms, of course,I hunt NS for loot and Enraged Rancors for $$. Pretty simple backstory for game-related activities
