Thread: Spice/brandy not helping powerboost?

The FAQ says that PB's effectiveness can be increased with spice or food, but I always have a constant increase of half of my base mind regardless of my buffs. Am i bugged, or is the FAQ out of date? A lot of the FAQ seems to be in need of a reworking, but I'm not going to comment on that too much here.

nope. it's only ever your base stat. be it buffed by brandy, dancer, canpes, all three, or any combo of the three.

The faq is fairly old and a lot of the info is out of date. PB only works off your base mind stat and has since December I believe.

Every little bit helps, and power boost will go on top of doc buffs or any buff for that matter. It is just the size of the buff powerboost gives is determined by:
(base mind pool) / 2
So if I have, unbuffed, 1000 mind, I will always boost H, A, and M by 500 regardless of buffs.

Thanks for the quick responses--I was just thinking I wasted a box going up for PB after Power Tech.
You're right--every bit helps, and mostly 500 in addition to a buff means just a few more specials or room to burst. Glad that second box will be useful!
