Thread: so now i am thinking that all the complaining and flaming isnt helping at all
so a thoughtful sugesstion
y dont the DEVS give us several choices via a poll for the changes and that they plan on testing and we can vote accordingly
i am sure this msg board can support some kind of polling format
stats are easier to read than flames anyway...
im not suggesting that the dialogue stop completely ( and i use the term dialogue loosely)
but i am: 1) feeling that the devs arent sure what me want and what direction to go with the TKA and 2) feeling that all the complaining and "holo you blo" comments arent helping...
ps: i and totally against the timer thing....i feel like instead of playing a game i will simply be watching one which is a lot worse...
*shakes head*
just when i was getting used to playing my TKA with the recent nerfs they come up with new ones to **edit** with me
It appears the Devs have their own agenda. Check the history of TKA and tell me how many customer TKAsuggestions have been put into production as is, without having major penalties added to them. Then look at the other forums designer responses and tell me why they don't get one line responses with smilies at the end of them.
I suspect our unarmed fixes are coming from the Devs working on the Brawler problems. Which would mean we are getting Zero service.
"i just feel like the "suggested changes" are more of a backlash than a thought out strategy of fixing our prof "
I don't know. Even a backlash would show some sort of prescribed methodology for action. To me, the dev's seem to be foundering in a sea of self-created chaos, where every action they take is based on some discreet number here, some fluctuating stat there. The problem with this is that they seem not to be taking the so-called 'big picture' into account. Of course, they might be intending a profession-wide nerf (i.e., upheaval)--but, who knows?
It's not like they ever tell us, right? Or ask for our opinions--except in a back-handed, "well, we're really not going to listen to them, anyway" sort of way.
A poll woul be a good idea.
Now get that through to anyone working at SOA. /laughter
I don't believe its backlash, but I don't believe its exactly chaos either. I just believe we are not at all on the Devs radar right now. Plain and simple: they are not interested in melee right now - they are tweaking and balancing the game with the concern of the 90% of combat people who play marksmen class. We'll either get whatever crumbs are leftover, or in a best case scenario - we will get attention, but it will be months from now when all the first-class professions get handled.
Please don't mistake that for me saying I think that's right. I just think it is fact. Brawler classes sit in coach, Marksmen sit in first-class - the serivce goes accordingly. That's what I think.
As for me I will just go sit in the World of Warcraft line.
I have waited and begged the devs to much, I for one have had enough. Nothing is going to change for the better, only NERF NERF NERF.
Every single nerf makes another class seem more powerful, and so they nerf them, it is a endless cycle, and the devs do not seem to be able to figure that out.
I am not going to give them my hard earned money waiting for them any longer.
You cannot even take SWG back to a place that sells used games, because the word is out, and they cannot even sell them for 10 bucks.
Never in my life have I seen something with so much potential go down the toliet so fast.
Instead of balancing a problem they take it out tanya harding style.
I have had enough
your ranting reminds me of that tubby guy from the simpsons who sells comic books....
and yes sel i agree that we sit in coach...
peanuts please

Sure, and in the meantime, the TKA profession keeps getting hit with additional nerfs, so that it becomes even more frustratingly unplayable. Whether or not the greater majority of playersplay ranged weaponprofessionis really beside the point from, at least from the paying customer's perspective.
In the software industry, any time you introduce a 'patch' that causes new/unforseen problems, it is your responsibility to the customer to 'fix' the problems immediately. Not next week some time. Not in a couple of months. Not when you feel like it, or after the customer has finally gotten your attention. At the very least, glaring problems--like excessive/bugged HAM costs for TKA's--should have been addressed/fixed days ago.
From my perspective, introducing untested patches ...then ignoring the customer (sorry, Holo's attempt at a Q & A session was clearly a calculated distraction) ... then telling the customer that "Hey, we have a new, totally untested patch that will make your system even worse!!" .... all of this adds up to one thing: a bad implementation plan. And that, in the software industry, leads directly to internal chaos.
The fact that such sweeping, system-wide problems---like general balancing, mob XP gains, etc.---are having to be re-evaluated now clearly indicates that the dev's are reaching in several directions at once. Theyare not following an 'agenda', or triage plan. (If they were, theTKA HAM costs would have been un-nerfed, just like the recent T-21 rifle stats.)
It may be good to think that they will eventually 'take a look' at the TKA problem. (Think positive, right?) However,I just don't see it happening. Not at this point, and certainly not after they've 'balanced' the ranged professions. They're alreadyforcingus to swallow the KD timer without discussion. (Even though Holo asked for our input.) You may see some sort of logic guiding their actions. You may even see that there is an agenda behind their haphazard nerfing of 'this' or 'that'. Apparently, I just don't give them that much credit.
