Thread: its not the 30s timer itself that will be bad...

...its the fact that melee and ranged will have knockdown timers of the same length, allowing them to perpetually keep a distance between the melee and themselves.

With an equal knockdown timer the ranged player will be able to wait forthemelee to knock them down, and then get up and knockdown the melee player. Then we'll be kited for 30 seconds, until we lunge to catch up to them, and they'll knock us down again, because their timer will have charged again as well. They can repeat this until we're dead.

The picture is of happiness, the story not. Happiness is a garden walled with glass: there is no way in or out. In Paradise there are no stories, because there are no journeys. It's loss and regret and misery and yearning that drive the story forward, along its twisted road.

No, it is the 24 seconds we will have to chase a ranged user doesn with not way of attacking them and hope'n we live long enough to do it again.

We the Teras Kasi are the one that got hurt the most out of the 30 second Knockdown, some are blinded by the +20 to damage coming. (The devs are pretty good a lube'n yall up) A damage of plus 160 does not mean anything if you can not stop your opponet to hit them.

Well... I hate to say it, but TKA is less than 1/2 your character. If you're going to be participating in the highest level of combat (PvP), you'll need to round out your combat skills with some ranged combat ability. It may be a sad state of affairs, but that's just the way it is. Give the Smuggler dirty fighting tree a try. It's quite good.

"you're going to be participating in the highest level of combat (PvP),"

- Sadly the issue of kiting is not solely the perview of PvP, it happens in PvE as well.

- So in order to be viable in PvE as a melee fighter, I need ranged fighting skills?

Ok, first off, TKA are masters of unarmed combat. VK is a weapon. TKA+VK=armed combat. All other professions are weapon users, we are not but there is one weapon available to us, just with a lil extra price.

Second, i like the idea AO had with the Martial Artists types getting a bow. Maybe it could be a hybrid profession. Master brawler+weapon support 4. just a idea.
