It seems like all fencers, have +40 defense vs knockdown, +40 defense vs. dizzy... I can't do anything to them before they knock me down, dizzy, and sometimes even make me go prone.. after that, they bust out some crazy ass combo.. and im dead within seconds.

I am 0/2/4/2 TKA, and I can't do anything against them

anyone know how to get the upperhand?

Beat them to the Lunge(That's really all you can hope to do).

Lol, I tried to lunge dizzy him, and that didnt work.. he countered it.. knocked me down, dizzy and then just started raping me

Are you sure he was a fencer fighting as a fencer? I know that class has a bunch of defense mods (that seem to actually work) but could he have been fighting you as a swordsman and have a Fencer tag on?

Just sounds like a fight i had against a swordsman. Knocked me down and dizzied me (or it could have made me kneel and dizzied me and i fell down trying to get up...happened too fast) while doing almost half a HAM bar worth of damage. And this was post 25% PvP damage. I asked him what kinda damage that usually did in PvE and he said that he usually did about 6-7k damage with it per target since it was an area attack!! (similiar to our unarmed spin I'm guessing). He said he had to be careful with it since it took off like 300 from his Action bar. Kinda made me sad.......

BTW: I'm not exactly sure if this true or not, which is the reason i said "He said," etc. but i have been out grouping with him and had to stop doing that cause he would repeatedly hit stuff (single targets) for over 7k, with Mind-Hit 2 I'm guessing, and I'd end up with like 5xp per kill.....

And even though this may be about the specials, another friend of mine saw that, and immediatly set on the path of Swordsman. Even at the Expert level in the Brawler tree he regularly hits for 750-1k without specials, and got his 2-hand Curved Sword sliced to an attack speed of like 2.0-2.2 (I'm not sure exactly) and with his mods is hitting almost every second.

But i guess this is class balance :^\

one thing you got to remember about swordsman and the such is that their weapons can have a AP rating of medium, and if you your AC ist light or none, they get a dmg bonus so that can also be a problem with fighting them. I really wish they would put something in the TKA where our fists would become more stone like and our mind and body more in tune with our attacks and would give us at least a AP of light, master TKA of medium. but that is just kind of my wishlist item, that and a class specific armors for commandos, one for BH, and one for TKA. maybe one for fencer that looks like a fencer uniform hehe.

what was that fencer's skill at?

all Novice Fencer gets 40+ KD/DIZZY resis?

or he was a Master Fencer. there are no chance for u to win him if he is higher lvl .(means higher skills)

or U might think u could win all melees cuz of TKA?
