Thread: How do TKA defense mods work?

I'm working my way to TKA novice now and wondering about the defense mods. Do they only apply when I'm unarmed or will they also apply when I'm using a ranged weapon? Also, since commando weapons are considered melee will the defense mods work if I have a commando weapon equipped?

My dream armor would would not only have low encumbrances but it would have extremely high resists to nerf cries.
