Every time I come within 3 meters of the monster, (i thought it was increased to 5?) the thing agros to me. I've tried graul maulers, g sludge panthers, arachne warriors... I've tried not using specials... whats the trick?

Ya I know the feeling - I use a Greater Sludge Panther, no matter what type of MOB I fight, as soon as I get within 6m of it, it (and most of its friends) aggro on me.

It has been suggested to me that 4.5 is the place to be, to avoid aggro... but I think that distances + lag are so far off in the game that if you are close enough to hit you will probably get the aggro.

I have found that if I let my pet attack and get to about 8m out and slowly edge in until I can hit with my hands, the aggro will stay off. This is a painful way to do it, but seems to work. Sometimes I will be hitting the target at 8m and sometimes I get to 3m before I hit.

Also the problem with VK with less range than hands means that if you use VK you will probably get the aggro. I don't care what the patch notes say, I can hit with hands, but switching to VK says out of range every single time. They DO has less range.

Also on a side note (related by range problems)... I get creatures sometimes that I can be standing in (0m-1m range) that it says is out of range. I have found that using /follow on them does the trick as long as they are not walking away. If they are walking away from you, they will kite you to death if you stay with follow... sadly.

Ok i found the trick (for future people having this problem)

You have to fight "large" creatures, that have a larger hit range. Pikets on dantooine work, range is 6 meters, which is barely out of its agro range. I'm sure there are lots of other large creatures that this works for.

I have the opposite problem. It seems like I cant keep the creature from attacking my pet instead of me. I'd rather it hit me instead of my rock beetle.
