Pets work but spamming KD while chasing someone won't. If you're moving, you're not going to hit them. So if he wants to do PVP, hes going to need to pick up some gun skills. I recommend aiming for a ranged kd (hint: think smuggler).

Im pretty limited in my TK pvp coming off of a powerhouse like BH but this is what I have found to work so far. If your in open feild its pretty rough, what ive been doing is try landing ua lunge, 15m range and if they go down smack em hard with your specials when you get close they get up run, repeat the unarmed lunge. Also intimidate is 30m range? land that cuts there damage even further, with a comp helm and int a bh was hitting me for 36 an eyeshot. If your in town its pretty much same except try to get them to fight your way, I run into buildings trying to get them to come in, anything to close the range between you. All in all its alot harder to fight players as a TK or any melee for that matter, but its alot more challenging and fun to.

all you have to do is to play smart, when we are out in the open and its really only us yeah we cna get kited or destroyed, personally the only things that really hurt me are commandos, other tkms, and big big pets.

there has been one time in which while at the imperial outpost on talus i was the only overt imperial while there were three rebel overts, killing everything in sight, they saw tht i was in a building and decided to come to try and get me.

Well that was what i was waiting for MAster CH comes in, and is dead before he walks in teh door, the others decided to wait and i start sneaking around, next thing the commando knows hes on his back getting his mind bar beat away while i spam head hit.

and if there is a huge battle, well your pretty safe, they will usually hit the person that is shooting at them , and you can walk right up and own them, it takes a few deaths to learn how to do good pvp, and a good stat tweaking helps as well, its up to you to play smart

I havea good friend who's a TKM, but they are frustrated by the fact everyone is ranged in PvP. I know everyone here has a lot of experience with it, and I don't know anything about melee PvP. Could some of the veterans here enlighten me as to some great strategies for a TKM with some CH skills to be effective in PvP? My thoughts are a fast cat, send it in first, use a buff and burst run to close the distance then hammer with knockdown (TKM have knockdown right?). Thanks in advance for helping me out!

heres what i do and when they run it is not fun but adapt and you shall be successful. when they run i sic my dogs on em most gunners dont have natraul defenses like we do. i also click on my enemy and type follow. they dont get far that way if they have a pet too i go for the pet first while they shoot ill jus hit a heal or 2. adv composites helm helps me with comandos as well.

#1 tip, don't display your profession.... thats asking for someone to kite you to death.. hold a scout blaster to make it look like you're a pistol user so you can get in close.. don't prominently display your VK's, and wear a helmet ....

I only have a few tips :

1) dont ever run after someone who is shooting you, unless they are withing 15m

2) make your opponent come to you, not you to them, unless they are in buildings, they are your friends

3) be a combat medic, and if they run, put mind poison on them mu hah ah ah ah a ha

4) when you deathblow them, use a macro and say "my kung foo is strong"

hope that helps =)

I find your lack of faith....disturbing......
