Thread: Initiated last night

Having spent the last two weeks leveling up, I logged in last night about 20k xp short of student. I mulled around for a bit while getting BF treated when I decided to go on an expedition across the desert to Wayfar (why? that's where one of the TK trainers are). Sure, the trainers are elsewhere, but Wayfar allows one to complete missions almost all the time without someone intruding, thus stealing XP potential. Since my hometown is Mos Eisley, there should be plenty action in between to level me up (as it was) so I shoved off. Things were pretty usual as I approached my first stop in Anchorhead.I passed through the cantina to heal my BF the I gathered on my way, tipped the entertainer, bought a drink, and headed off to Wayfar. Having planned to visit the Lars Homestead, and survey the honor spawn, I was running along and ran into a camp of rebel NPC's. Since I had enough points, I managed to join the Rebellion as a covert (a week ago, while on Correllia, I ran passed a rebel coordinator. Asking for a mission, he gave me one. I went out, succeeded, and came back with a disc. This locked me into needing to decode the disc. Since then, coordinators wouldn't allow me to join the rebellion without finishing the disc decoding). Now rebelsshow as purple to me and I find that super cool. I continued on and found myself in a few hairy situations with pirates in the desert. I'd say a good part of my night was spent dueling with NPC's on my way to Wayfar.I was still short on XP by the time I showed up.

So, I'm in the cantina. A quick look at my radar screen shows no one inside. As I'm making my way out the door, someone comes in and begins dancing. How lucky I feel at the moment since my BF was nearly 80. With my BF cleared, and wounds healed (I'm also a medic), I went to a mission terminal and began fighting away. Keeping a watchful eye at my novice XP, I was on a mission that was more than I could handle, but was relying on the gamble that there would be no DB. As I killed a tough opponent off, there were two shooting me with pretty powerful weapons. Usually, when someone interferes with a mission of mine, I take it as stealing XP from me. It's irritating and rude. Not like they can't go to a city and get their own missions. In this case, another rebel came to my rescue and killed off the two snipers. With my mission complete, I was surprised and elated to notice my XP over the requirement to finally begin training for TK Artist. I rushed back to Wayfar and got trained.I was more than happy to pay the fee.

Until that moment, my thoughts were that I'd get trained, sit down, and call it the night. Nope, greedy me had to test my new combat skills. How impressedwas I when I noticed a group of Valarian NPC's walking through town. I was now able to take on objects that show as red on my radar screen without much concern. Since a friend of mine, a TK master, gifted me his first set of VK's from his early days, my damage for unarmed 2 was nearly 1k. Needless to say, I had about an hour of sleep last night, and I'm happier than a dog in a hubcap factory. The Valarian NPC's I confronted were down with one sweep of the unarmed 2 with the VK. Man, life is good. After the remainder of the night passed, I had managed to accumulate 20K xp. Now I'm really hooked on this game.

Ahhh I remember those days. Congrats on reaching Novice TKA. The fun has just started for ya

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill today because they angered me.

Welcome to the fold! I am having an absolute blast with TKA. Its the special moves that grabbed me, like some crazy Bruce Lee movie. Whatis better than reeking total havoc without even using a weapon? Play with the specials and always remember...KD/Warcry and KD/Dizzyare your friends

Besides, how cool is Intimidating a Graul Mauler or a Rancor? VERY.

Thank you all for the reception. Although we are all probably spread out throughout all the galaxies, it's nice to no there's a united front. Since I play in the hours I should be sleeping, I should be able to level up in no time. It's the apprentice points I'm lacking that I'm worried about. If I have apprentice points for brawler or scout, will it count towards TKA?

Apprenticeship points are just that... teaching points. Where they come from is meaningless. If you taught someone the entire medic tree and then wanted to go to TKM, you'd be fine.

Welcome.

I have to agree with the others, you are just at the tip of the iceburg. I'm up to 2-1-2-2 in the TKA tree these days and I love it. I'm also a Master Brawler. It's fun when you start adding up the TK special moves with some of the brawler specials. I have a macro combo move that applies just about every status affect and does serious damage. It's great
