Thread: What trees to go up first?
Thanks
btw im just a novice now =/
Soon i will also almost be through to the first skill boxes!
Yeahh power looks good cause it gives you good skill mods! 15+ In damage and Speed!
The last one in the tree has better acuracy and better defense!
U also fast need to get the dizzy/KD combo;D
Hard choice to make![]()
I'm at 0-1-4-2 only because I'm limited on skill points. The +speed and +damage made a huge difference. As a TKA0-1-1-1 I was doing about 650 dmg with unarmed2 and now I do 1000-1200with more hits in between. My xpon kamuriths was 3500 before and now I get about 4500.
As far as dizzy, I don't use it that often right now since it doesn't connect enough. Instead I use KD + warcry. It works great ![]()
Since the resent change to powerboost...this is what i would do ...IMO. Power Tech I....you want to get the speed right away. then to Balance I. Now you can knock down which is good and plus you get the other benefits from it. Ok here is where people will argue...get Meditation II (powerboost). I know it saved my butt most of the times...and you can get that lovely mind higher with the dancer buffs. So at this point you have
2-1-1-?
Now power tech is good to finish out. Then Balance and of course at the end finish meditation.
KD is a good thing, however, the real power in KD is combining it with dizzy or warcry. If you can close with the opponent and apply dizzy before they can get up then the ranged KD will work well for you, otherwise I would suggest the following if you are going for Master:
Power 1, Balance 1, power 2-4, Balance 2-4, Meditate 1-4.
KD/Warcry can keep an animal, which is normally 'immune' to KD/Dizzy, on the ground for 10 seconds. This makes all the difference with DPS as you get a damage bonus while they are on their back.
I have used intimidate and berserk from the novice skills but they don't last long at all and has a fairly large chance of not sticking, is it the same with warcry? And warcry 2?
Warcry1 works far better than it used to. It will stick often enough against big critters and if you get it to stick on your target it will get all the critters in its range.
As far as what tree to go....
I went power 1, balance 1, power 4, balance4, meditation.
I regret that a lot. I would get med 2 before anything else. The bonuses derived from powerboost are amazing and far outweight the advantages gained from 2 boxes of any other tree. I woudl stop at med 2 and get the other 8 boxes before med 3 and 4 but that's jsut me. I group with a Master Doctor and Combat Medic so the wounds healing is not as important to me.
Excellent thread. Just what I was looking for actually. I am 0-1-3-2 in the TK prof, and I must say that I really enjoy the damage I am doing with the power line and /unarmedHit2. I just trained Power 3 last night, and am getting xp from Torturs on Talus. I always use a pet and probot, but rarely have them attack... only if I'm facing down 3 or 4 torturs at once. I am at my own crossroads now, though. Do I train up to Power 4, or start up the Meditation line? It really depends on how you play. I can solo Dark Troopers and most things that are tough, one on one, but most of my time is spent PvE, so I really want to just hit hard and fast right now. Also fair knowledge of specials is really good too. When I started out my unarmedhit2 landed for around 600 with VK's, now.. last night after training I hit a sleemo punk, without VK's I unarmedhit2 for 600 dmg.. with VK's I hit for 1300+. I am a doshan, so I get small bonuses too.
I will probably finish the Power line then fill in the other blanks starting with Meditate 2, finish balance, then finish Meditate. Get Balance1 first, then Power1. From there its all up to you!
I followed a path very similar to MightySquid on my way to TKM. I did balance 1 first for the knockdown (no smuggler skills), then power 1-4, then balance 1-4, then meditate 1-4. If I had done it when powerboost was working as well as it does now, I probably would've thrown in meditate 1-2 before balance 1-4. power will always help since it raises your damage and theoretically improve your damage output making unarmed xp easier to get. balance 4 will give you kd2, which makes npc mobs extrememly easy. meditate was the last line of importance since both FoW and pb were somewhat ineffective, but with pb being an awesome selfbuff now, you might want to get that right after the power tree.
I was wondering if you mean the warcry from novice brawler or do you need warcry2 from master to be successfull with this combo?
Warcry 1 will work well with this combo. I don't have Master Brawler and have been very happy with KD/Warcry. I need to hunt down a BE and have some Intimidate/Warcry cloth made to help with landing the specials. Don't give up on Intimidate anduse it with EVERY attack. The damage reduction is worth trying to land it several times. Of course I am a Master CH and always fight beside my pet. It's easy to tell someone to chain specials until they land when you have a Gaping Spider Hunting absorbing damage for you.
You don't need a pet to be successful though. I have seen Doctor buffed TKA's do some pretty sick stuff ![]()
