Thread: Did Meditation Change? I bled for nearly 60 secs....

Yesterday I kd/dizzy'd a Dark Tooper. He fell, got up, hit me, and fell back down. Now when he got up, he hit me with his night-stick and got a -280 health bleed. No prob... never happened from Dark Troopers before, but kunga's and the like. So I wasted him, then killed his bud, dropped to my knees to meditate the bleed away. I was disappointed.

After nearly 30 seconds of meditation (with regeneration on) I had to stand up, and pop a stim-b! I was still bleeding. I went back to meditation and about 15 seconds later had to pop another stim. It took nearly a minute to stop bleeding. Now I'm glad we have the ability to stop poison and bleeds and something is better than nothing, but I've NEVER had to take that long to stop a bleed. So my question is this:

Did the devs change anything in meditation that would affect this, or is this just a fluke? Thanks!

I don't know about the bleeding but I got killed by NPC I would normally instagib. Faction missions are now three times as hard. NPC's shooting at me killed me before I could even get close enough to attack. I am thinking that this new system is giong to force me to leave this game. My specials take more of my ham then the damage they inflict. I know the devs said that somethings may seem too hard and somethings may seem too easy but this constant let down is making me feel that the thirty bucks a month I am paying for two accounts is no longer worth paying.

I have no knowledge of length of bleeding since I heal my bleeding myself. I CAN tell you that I am getting bled a hellava lot more since the patch.

The Devs defintely turned bleeding up, whether they meant to or not.

I had the same experience. I was bleed by tuskens a few times and meditate took over 2 minutes to get rid of the effect. It would have been faster for me to use my level 3 first aid on myself. That's not right. If I have full health, meditate should get ride of the effect before I get to zero health. Otherwise, what's the point? I realize bleeds don't incap you anymore but getting bleed in combat is enough of a penalty and a negative effect in and of itself. We shouldnt have massive downtime after it too.

I also noticed that NPCs are spamming specials now. I though developers wanted to stop us from doing that. Why make the NPCs do it? Getting one hit incapped all the time is not fun. I understand they want to balance things between having it challenging and having things fun. The way NPCs are set up now they aren't fun to fight.

Not to mentioned that NPCs can spam specials, AND that they have always more than thrice our ham - heh. Also bleeded/meditation is bugged since for everything else meditation works fine but for bleeding it takes forever. Always, SOE is notorious for breaking things with new patches. Sigh.

Thats a very good point... TH even stated in the post that encounters would seem really out of wack until all the pieces were finally assembled that gives the combat engine its overhaul

I was fighting a tusken warlord and his only hit on me was a +250 health wound that created a big bleed. After I finished him off, I went into meditation. Sure, it took a bit to clear the bleeding, but I've NEVER gotten such a heavy damage to my health. Now, when I was levelling, I was fighting one and he did a +449 wound to my willpower. Now THAT took forever to heal since I wasn't at meditation 4 yet. I was left with 1 willpower after that experience. Of course, he killed me. My partner didn't do much damage to him either. I don't think they made any changes to meditation except that the rate of healing decreased with the amount of BF. I foudn that healing wounds with low BF was normal. But if I had 280 BF, wounds were healing at nothing higher than 19 wounds per cycle with the exception of 1 or 2 pools.

And do people still think that CoB isn't working? - i feel sorry for those people(or for those who didnt know it was a command and just think its built in like me

I got a large one, I want to say 600 when it hit(just remember it wasent per tick). At least I know it was 400. Anyhow that took some time to get rid of. I can belive what was said because about it cutting inhalf.

Bleeding seems to work the same, its just that NPCs are doing it alot more. It seems that when you meditate as a TKM (not sure about other levels), that the bleed is cut in half for each tick( about 5 seconds). It will keep going until it reaches 1, then it stops. Example -

I am hit with sap blast for 400 damage.

i start meditating. and i see

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 200.

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 100.

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 50.

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 25.

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 12.

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 6.

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 3.

Your bleeding has decreased.

The bleed is now 1.

Your bleeding has stopped.

And do people still think that CoB isn't working? Is it just PvP that you are testing with, because it seems to work fine in PvE. Yesterday I was testing it out against some nym's guards, but after I centered, the shots on me were a miss, dodge, counter, and miss. Did the same thing last week in the nightsister mines, couple of dodges and/or counters when I use it. Ive been using it alot and seems to work, but I haven't tested inPvP.
