I always wondered why my health bar seems to drop much more when I get hit for ranged damage, as aposed to melee damage, even though in the combat log it says the same amount of damage has been delt. I changed the combat log settings in my options, so I can see how much damage gets absorbed by my armor. Well, I got hit by a ranged enemey for 340 points POSSIBLE damage, and it said that my TKI armor absorbed something like 160 damage out of it, so it said that I have been hit with 180 damage, out of the possible 340 damage. Well, I put my mouse over the health bar, and sure enough 340 points of damage were actually taken away from my health, not the 180 which should have been removed.

I experimented with this agian, againist different ranged mobs, and for whatever reason, my health takes away the possible damage, and doesn't seem to absorb any of the damage with my TKI armor.

Is this a bug ? Or is there a reason that my armor seems not to absorb any of the ranged damage ?

Note, it does absorb when I get attacked by a melee attacker, only when attacked by a ranged attacker does it not work.


Anyone else experience this ?


Also, I'm not wearing any armor, only clothing.

No armor at all.
My ranged defense is around 218.
Even if the attacker is CL 30 (I'm 80) the same thing seems to happen.
It "says" in the combat log, that my TKI is absorbing the damage, but it isn't when I check my health bar.

That's pretty odd..try going naked and see if the same thing happens..gotta be some article of clothing that is screwing your IA..maybe it's bugged and the system thinks it's armor..although the fact that melee dmg is being absorbed properly refutes that...

Got any Ranged SEA's in that clothing?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have tried in the tighty-whiteys already, and the same thing happens. Even with nothing on me, it still happens.

I will try and see if the same happens...I so rarely fight any ranged mobs I have never noticed a problem..btw where do you turn on the option to see armor absorption stats in the combat log?

I'm not in the game at the moment, so I can't say for sure, but I belivie it's in the Chat section of your options... it's the very last set of settings in there.
