Thread: make tk better at offense? no add better craftable weapons

since the cu, so much of this forum has been whining... "the devs said we should be offense 3 and pikes 2, but they outdamage us!!!11!1one!eleventeen!" look at it now:
tks - tank better than pikeman
pikemen - do more damage than tks... that makes sense, heres why:
tk (what they actually are)
offense: 2
defense: 5
pikeman (what they actually are)
offense: 3
defense: 4
if tk has 1 point better defense, it only makes sense for pikeman to have 1 point better offense. also, they BOTH equal 7 in points.
giving tk more damage would unbalance it and would make tk even more FOTM. if tk did more damage, either tkm/mdoc or tkm/ swords 0044 / doc 4004 would be the new FOTM.
pikeman cannot tank as well as us, but they do tank well. we have improved COB and innate armor, and they have debuffs. they can delay combat speed, lower regen, and lower damage, but they cant tank as much damage as tks can. pikeman have more choices of weapons and can do better damage, but they cannot take as much.
TKM is supposed to be the best tanking profession there is - which it is. it isnt supposed to dish out the most damage or close to swordsman damage. dont ask for it or tkm is unbalanced.
how to fix it, is to make more craftable weapons that are comparable to the katarn and nightblade, and have reason to use them sometimes. make it easier to get these weapons, and give them more use, such as good damage, but lower SAC, or higher damage higher SAC... either or.

you think its ok for tkm to be a 2 in damage, then that means we have 8 points and pikeman have 9.. how is that fair?
more craftable weapons would be nice.. but you admit that tkm is '2' on offence, and it should be a 3, so case closed, they need to up our damage.

No, everyone would still be Jedi, but TKA wouldn't be so dependent on other professions for everything.
We're supposed to be high defense, mid damage, no crowd control. They should remove dizzy attack entirelyand replace it with anotherpure damagespecial, thenmake the multiplier on combo attackequivalent to what pikemen get on impale. Then we'd have roughly the same offense as pikemen,and single-target KD as our onlyCC ability, which means we'd only have to dabble for extra state effects to be viable instead of essentiallyhaving to pick up a whole other melee mastery to get our damage up to par.

only thing ive had to depend on other people for lately is the phase 4 melee def quest so i actually got credit for kills and Necrosis.

Everyone already is......any other melee profession would be wise to invest the measly little 24 skillpoints to get +500 ranged and melee defense. If your already master brawler its only 11 skillpoints.

Sorry about that, browser acted up.
I didn't mean other people, I meant other professions. As in other professions in our template. As in templates like yours, Vander - TKM, Swords x444.

again. no one can kill stuff anything decent without other professions in their template. and how many times do i ahve to say that i can do just fine without the swordsman?

You can say it until you're blue in the face; I don't care. I'm not here to compare a bunch of peoples' limited experiences, I'm looking at the factual differences between weapons, skill mods and abilities. And please don't give me that tired old 'everyone needs to mix professions' argument. A master pikeman,with no other professions,has armour protection up to and above our innate armour, weaponry with comparable speed and superior top-enddamage to our best knuckler, twooffensive specials(3.0 and 3.6) to our one (3.0),and a damage debuff, combat speed debuff andarea KD to oursingle targetKD. This profession is rated lower than us for offense.Where is the balance here?
