Doctor, or if you have an alt buffer, I would say rifleman so you can hit big from a distance, and finish them off up close.

yes, TKM/ master rifleman is very good for pvp, But if you want to go all melee, then I would suggest TKM/master fencer/master brawler.

Dunno about best, but for fun, just check my sif. 
Master Brawler is huge, all the Lunge2 attacks are awesome with a 15-20 meter range, helps against kiters. Gets uneducated nerf cries by the masses, but still useful.

All very good answers.
Depends on what you want to do with it.
I carry a ranged profession just to get me close hopefully in PVP.
And working up Scout now for all the harvesting. Meat meat meat everyone wants meat

PvP: TKM/Rifleman like stated dangerous from a far and close.
PvE: TKM/Doc for Buffs and quick kills, but for soloing 100% kenetic "For Get about it" that's why Rifleman still is my Pick, have much more different types of DMG.
