Stemming off of the "Name your MA" thread I'd like to know if any of you have witness some amazing things accomplished by martial artists.

Our sensei (Kinushe), master of the bo and 4th dan black belt (Shorin-ryu), took a bo lept up and executed a perfect forward strike and in mid-air, just from the force generated in the strike-the last 6" of the bo broke off. Anyone tried to calculate the force required for such a feat?-Unbelievable!

Again, I arrived at the dojo early to conduct the pre-cleaning and setup of our evening class. As I approached the dojo it was shaking as if someone was hitting the bracers with a sledge hammer-the windows were vibrating. I opened the door and peeked into the floor to see master Kinushe exucuting front kicks to the makiwara board WITH HIS TOES!!!

Needless to say I have a lot of respect for this man.

Man, I have seen some truly amazing things in my day (I'm only 25, lol)

Got to see a demonstration by the Shaolin Monks, when they where at a festival a couple years ago. Anyone who has seen the things these men can do knows exactly what i'm talking about. A older monk, pulled out a 2 foot length of iron, called someone from the audience and produced a baseball bat. The audience member was told to take a couple of wacks at the length of iron to ensure it wasn't fake. after hearing the metallic sound of the bat on the iron, the monk grabbed the peice, and gave it a sharp headbutt.....breakign it in two.

On a more personal levl, I remember the first time i seen my first instructor break a brick, with his thumb..... I'm guessing it was because at the time i was a n00b and had never seen that before, it always stuck with me.....

There's so many to list, I'm a total Martial Arts junkie...

I used to have a link to a website where real people sent in homemade films of amazing martial arts feats, I have to go find it....

Most of it falls into the new "Extreme Martial Arts" catagory, but it's still kinda cool to watch....

There's a show on the UK digital channel called "Mind, Body and Kick Ass Moves" that has some real masters of the "did he just...?" school of martial arts.

I think the most impressive was the guy who pulled a truck with about 12 people sitting on the back. Using his "fella" (if you know what I mean...)

Then there was the guy who was "possessed" by a warrior spirit and ate glass, jumped up and down on broken glass, then took a brick, put his hand on it, placed another atop that then smashed it with a third brick in his other hand - i.e. through his own hand.

it was very good this year, I just hate that it not considered a high ratings sport, so it gets relegated to the 2-3 am time slot, I miss quite a bit of it, and all of the Tae Kwon Do

Hey,

I saw Tae Kwon Do. Only saw woman's. Looked really painful. They hit each other like berzerkers and never seem to be blocking. If it weren't for the armor, they would have "FOOBAR" each other. Those girls have some balls of steel. I would've turn around and run like the chicken.

I think I like Judo better. Feels better knowing none of them had to be send to ICU. ... (TKM should have throws!!)

Sport Tae Kwon Do is all about offense, the only real defense comes in the footwork and positioning, blocking isn't encouraged. My biggest gripe about Olympic style sparring is that punching isn't rewarded, in fact it's discouraged by most. I can't see how anyone can really call it sparring, if you can't use your hands at all....
