not a complaint, or a whine or a gripe, just an observation.
tonight i took my alt from novice marksman to Rifles IV and half way into Novice Rifleman in a single set of buffs using Snow Cake to help with accuracy, a laser rifle that does 70-615 damage and no armor.
i have CH abilities, so i was able to keep 90% of the quenkers from agroing me...but even so.
i have never even come CLOSE to Unarmed VI (let alone TK Novice) in a single set of buffs.
this speaks VOLUMES to me about the Novice professions and why TKM > any other profession i have played.

If you get a pair of speed sliced VKs from the start you will do it alot faster, and without CH skills rifleman is a slower and annoying grind.

each time i have done TK i have used VKs i cannot imagine the time it would take without them, CH skills or no.
i guess i was pointing out that at the novice level, you can have weapons that do damage in the 600+ range in rifles and MUCH MUCH higher than ANY VK in every single other combat profession.
i LOVE TK, and i think the unique DIFFICULTY of the class is one of the things that makes it so great

just trained in novice rifleman, had the points but had to finish up a mission frist...

...And then we have people posting on this forum about how training unarmed skills is easier than any other profession they've ever done.
It really depends on how you do it. I bet if you figured out the right thing to grind on and the best way to do it, you could have gotten to TKA as fast as you got to rifleman.

I've done Unarmed IV and Novice TKA in one buff session.
I got lucky that the Krayt Graveyard was full of Feral Banthas. Those are the best things to grind on at that point. About 1.1k and give out 1k. Pretty easy to take out with beserk.

Ditto on the feral banthas. I got through unarmed 4 and tk novice on those guys. Don't know if it took a buff session because I wasn't buffed at the time. Krayt graveyard can be a good place to find them, but I'm also a ranger and had at least tracking 2 back when I did that. I eventually found that the desolate area in the central northern part of tat was spawning feral banthas like crazy, cause everybody and their dog was out looking for the boar. With so many players in that area, I was finding FB's every time I used areatrack. Never found that damn boar, though-- a couple people had offered me some hefty rewards if I managed to track it, but unfortunately it never showed.

Actually I remember doing feral banthas for some time to level up both unarmed and pistol skills (Tatooine is my "home").
