Thread: What the Future Holds for TKs

I've heard numerous rumors and speculations of what might happen to us TKs. I will make a list of the comments I've heard...


1. Tks will have weaker defense against ranged


2. Tks will not be able to use armor


3. Tks speed will be reduced substantially


4. Tks will lose more points for doing special moves


5. Tks' (and all meely prof) spin attack damage will be lowered


6. Tks (and all meely profs) will GET extra damage by ranged weapons


These are some of what I've heard the main argument for some of these is "BALANCE"... Some say these will come after the combat revamp some say sooner.


In my opinion, I think the whole combat system nees to be fixed or at least polished, I dont know if the implementation of these things will help accomplish that but I think it could. Ofcourse some other prefessions should have similar fixes as well....

What defense? Ranged defense? Get rid of the melee defenses in ranged professions then.


2. Tks will not be able to use armor

Sure, give us 85% toughness that works against melee AND ranged.


3. Tks speed will be reduced substantially

Why? If someone with a knife let alone a big clunky rifle can hit at 1.0, why can't someone with nothing to weigh them down?


4. Tks will lose more points for doing special moves

We already have high HAM costs for special moves because 1) Being unarmed itself has HAM 2) Our VK just Adds to those costs


5. Tks' (and all meely prof) spin attack damage will be lowered

Considering our Spin attacks would never live up to the power of say Strafeshot 2... Especialy since they can do thise from a range.


6. Tks (and all meely profs) will GET extra damage by ranged weapons
So, by having a gun in your handmakes you somehow impervious to being shot?

Play for today and don't worry about the future. In these type of games, every profession, class, race, etc, somehow do not escape the power of the mighty nerf bat.

All in the name of "balance".

Lets see.....


TH recently said that the Combat Balance hasn't been coded yet.... there has been no Sandbox testing yet... and no real word from any Developers on how the revamp will affect us/anybody...


I'd say, rumors at this time.

The only CONFIRMED change that will severely affect TKA is that KNOCKDOWN will be removed.

From all proffessions. KD will go away. What it will be replaced with the devs didnt say.

I don't see the point in making Riflemen more powerful and weakening one of the most balanced classes in the game :/

Instead of noe being able to wear armor i hope that we get som specialiced armor like wookie.
Something that fits our profession.
