it helps to be sure (fyi you only need 3000 scout, 4th box gives no bonus) but if you're going to do hardcore pvp you would be better off spending your skill points elsewhere

I agree. I fought hard before finally giving up scout all together. I slowly dropped terrain negotion from master scout to 4/0/0/0, to 3/0/0/0 to 2/0/0/0 and left it at 1/0/0/0 still not wanting to give it up. Once I did finally give up scout I found that the terrain negotiation rarely becomes an issue. On that rare occasion where you have to run away look for the level ground route and try to save your burst run for those occasions (though uncommon). If someone is running from you learn to get familiar with lunge and taunt. The 29 points that you save can be very valuable when used elsewhere.

Do master brawler instead and use Unarmed Lunge 2 for fleeing opponents.

Maybe someone can help me here. How many of you have Scout 4000? The reason I ask is that since TK's lack a range attack sometimes you have to close in on an opponent or chase down a fleeing target (in both PvP and PvE), in which case terrain negotiationmay be required. How necessary, if atall,is terrain negotiation for a TK template? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't forget travel biscuits. Yep. They give a bonus to terrain negotiation and are only like 9% fill. I carry around some just in case (though I've honestly never had to use them).

plus don't forget on the rare occasion that you can find a chef that will make BE Travel biscuits they can get them up from +11 or so to +15 or 16 .... whether or not the price difference is worth it is up to you but I've also started carrying around a +18 TN walking stick when combined with the travel biscuits ... i never miss TN anymore ... but theni don't really have time to pvp anymore
