Hi everyone! I'm a master weaponsmith/slicer with a bit of merchant & teras kasi. I only have a few skill points to dabble with & was wondering if TK Master was a significant jump from TKA 0444 or even 4444, or would I be wasting the skill points? Has Master a big enough benefit? Thx

Well, if you are considering 0/4/4/4, I believe you are missing out on the best and most unique part of our profession...meditate. At novice you can only stop bleeding, but Id imagine not very quick. If you get 4/4/4/4 then you will be able to use the meditate line for all its worth (besides healing faster at master level). I am a big fan of the master though. I mean if you can get 4/4/4/4, I believe for 1 extra skill point you can get the master box, a few more mods, and Unarmed hit 3 which I believe is quite useful. To me, TKM is one of the most balanced and working professions in the game. It has fast attacks, but isnt the most powerful. It even gives players the ability to meditate which is unique to just TKA's. I am a master now, and it would take a lot for me to type in "yes" in the surrender skill box. If you have enough skill points to spend, I would highly suggest TKM. It is what each profession should be in the game....balanced, working, fun.

At TKM you get a very nice boost to Unarmed Damage (+70) which is probably the best reason to go Master. Meditation is great but you can achieve the same basic results with a little Medic, so it just depends on your template of choice (although I do recommend Meditation naturally).

Other than those, however, 0-4-4-4 is a solid template as well, it just boils down to whether you want to spend teh skillpoints in TK or elsewhere.

4044 TKA if you want self reliance.
0444 TKA if you want the most damage.

TKM is obviously the best, but those two above are they ways to go. UnarmedHit3, is slightly overrated I believe, and I personally never use it except on Lairs and Jedi. Unarmed Combo 1 and HeadHit will be primary one on one damage attacks. Its really your choice whether you think + 70 damage is worth it. For compairson - take this.

The jump to Unarmed 4 to TKN - Massive. This is because of + 70 damage and Vibro Knuckler Cert.
TKA 4444 - TKM. The same damage boost as to TKN, without a VK.

Thats a big load of damage.

Don't forget Unarmed Hit 3, which is probably the best move you can use in PvE, especially while buffed.

The meditation line is very useful. There's nothing like being able to meditate your wounds off. The dmg difference with master is noticeable and unarmedhit3 makes killing a lot faster.

If you have the points i'd definately go with master.

Being able to add half of your base mind to your mind pool is also a great help with powerboost

I have to agree with Ryu on that damage bonus comment, it was as noticeable as going from Unarmed Combat 4, to TK Novice... it just adds a whole new dimension to the damage equation.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Last night I was buffed unarmored soloing Quenker Lairs w/ Unarmed 4 and was killing a quenker in about three minutes. Now that I am Novice TK I kill Savage Quenkers in about a minute. HUUUUGE difference in damage.
