Sorry if this is on the wrong board, but I looked for a "race" forum and didn't find one. I have bought several robes and cloaks for thousands of credits and still haven't found one I can wear. I am working on Teras Kasi and now wear only a bandolier with bonus's to intimidate and warcry. All the clothing I look at rarely states who can wear and who can't. Seems I'm alone in this predicament because I see no other mention on this topic. In other games the stats (examine) always let you know before you plunked down cash if you could use it or not. I would like to wear something that would not impede my skills in unarmed combat if possible. Thanks for any assistance.

Look for Battle Padding.
No, it's not armor, it's just spiffy lookin torso clothing.
I haven't found anything really good for the nether regions. My wookiee had a Weighted Waistwrap or something like that.

You should talk to a tailor bud ... they generally know what is wookie wearable or not. Generally things that say "Wookie xxxxx" where xxxxx=clothing item name is wookie wearable.

Thanks for the tips. So, am I right in saying there's Wookie-only and everyone else can wear anything?

and I think that wookiees can wear those personal shield generators that high lev armorsmiths can make (acts like armor), but I dunno from experience... just what I've heard

Yeah, my alt isa Wookie Rifleman, and they can wear those shield gens, but they last about 10 hits from any mob and then they are toast, so I wouldn't invest in them. Not worth it, unless you only use them for special occasions.
