Well speed seems to max at one hit per second anyway soI'd say go for the extra damage if you're already hitting that fast. Doesn't matter if I use a 2.7 speed VK or 1.8 as I still swing at exactly the same speed :-/

Er, I don't that is remotely accurate. I noticed an increase in speed going from 2.5 to 2.1. I now use 1.7 spd knucks. Speed is a constant, max damage is variant. You don't always hit for the absolute max, so over time speed will contribute to your DPS more than a higher max damage.

But was your attack speed slower than one hit per second before that?

I've never been able to get faster than one hit per second and I know this for a fact because I always play with timestamps turned on. With master power it doesn't make any difference if I use 3.0 speed knucks or 1.6 speed - always one hit per second. Maybe I'm bugged (though others have reported the same thing)? Could you turn timestamp on tell me exactly how fast your attacks are? Thanks.

Go to the wrench button and click on chat, then click on "timestamp on all messages".

Sorry, I'm at work and don't now what the exact name of the wrench button is off the top of my head

Interesting. I wonder if it's merely a limitation of the logging system, or if all attacks truly cannot go under 1 second. If not, then slicing or even experimenting for speed is kind of pointless to a Master TK.

This weekend I purchased 2 knucklers. 1 was 40-171 2.6 another was 30-133 1.5 speed.

Of course I had an inventory poof and the 1.5 knucklers disappeared, so im using the 2.6 knucks.

Doing a ton of damage and im not noticing the hit delay on the 2.6.

As of now from the testing that i have done there is no noticable difference between my 1.7 and 2.2 spd VKs, i plan to do lots of testing next week when i have more time though.

As an aside, disregarding temporarily the debate over speed limitations, if you want to know which weapon is better:

[ (MinDamage + MaxDamage) /2 ] / Speed will give you an average damage per "speed".

Whichever is higher wins.

For normal swings the 1.0 second limitation might be a problem. Specials will probably be usable faster if they take longer than a second to recharge.

(Pure speculation as I haven't been focusing on my TKA, but perhaps worth testing.)
