Thread: Aspiring TKA with a Droid

As an unarmed master working towards TKA, I want to maximize the amount of XP that I get ... 125k comes pretty slow as a casual player. So I went out and picked up a mouse droid. I've been told that having a droid grouped will give you the group bonus, and you are able to leave them in town, or in house, and still get the bonus.

I actually have two questions here ...

1) As a non-CH, am I able to rename the pet (and how do I do it)?

2) How do I issue commands to the droid without having to use the radial menu?

I have never played a CH character, so I really dont have any experience issuing commands to pets/droids in this game, so I would appreciate any kind of help here.

I don't think this really goes here... but oh well

To name a droid, all you do is issue it (at least) 4 commands using the name you desire. There is a radial menu option to 'Program'. Select, for example, Attack from that menu. Immediately afterwards say out loud "<NAME> Attack" or whatever you want the comand to be. Do it with 4 commands and the droid will learn its name.

Good luck with your TKA.

To add a name to your driod just put the name you want to call it before the command. Like mine for example, its name is Rupert, to have it follow i say "Rupert Follow Me", to have it attack i say "Rupert Attack". After a couple commands it will change its name to what you desire it to. Not sure what you mean by your second question. When you go to program, the creature should respond with a ? the next thing you say is the command you give it when you want it to do the desired action. Example, you go to program attack, it responds witha ? you say "Robot Attack!" it responds with a !, and there you go, you gave it a command.

Thanks much. Got it all done. XP difference is noted.

Back to the grind to TKA.

I haven't done this myself, but if it's true that grouping with a droid while going solo yields an XP bonus, it is clearly an exploit. Isn't it obvious that the group bonus is there as an incentive for people to group up? Even if the XP bonus is tiny, it doesn't matter. It's still in a way cheating. What's wrong with you people? Not only is it underhanded, it's cheesy, especially since you're leaving the droid at home. If all of you people who do this are cheaters in the game, I can only wonder what you're like in real life.

Worse yet from what I hear Squad leaders get squad leader grouping experience for grouping with one of their droids. Wondered why I saw so many squad leaders running around seemingly solo.

Can't blame them though I guess. Good groups are hard to find and they can't advance unless they are group leader...

It's no exploit. LOL Its easy to get XP either way.

It is so simple in this game to max out your skills. It may take some PL but being capped in one month sure seems simple compaired to other games that can take 1-4 years.
