Thread: Real Questions: Toughness, Meditation, Power Boost. Do you have REAL Answers?
I've seen these questions posted before, but I have NOT seen any CLEAR answers to them. Maybe there isn't any....
Toughness. Does it soak damage? Is it a percentage, or a fixed amount? Is it bugged? As far as I've seen, IT DOESN'T WORK!
O.K. I posted that before I was ready to. I've tried everything I can think of to get Unarmed Toughness to work. I've taken off my armor, I've unequipped my VK, and watched my Combat window like a hawk. If it's working, I don't see it. When I'm wearing my armor, it tells me "you have been hit for blah blah damage, Mimbari Armor soaked such and such". Yes, I'm paraphrasing. But it's SOMETHING like that.
Meditation. Yeah, I know. "It rocks at higher levels". What does that mean, exactly? How much does it heal you? Do you have to be sitting for it to work? Or can you use it anytime. Does it have a timer on it? If so, how long do you have to wait before using it again?
Power Boost. "It's awesome". Great. Thanks for sharing. How is it awesome? Does it raise your stats? If so, how much? How long? Is there a timer, ect.
If anyone knows the answers to these questions, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give some definitive answers.
Sincerely, a frustrated, wannabe Teras Kasi.
Hey, Bothell;
Thanks for the prompt response. I didn't even get a chance to fix my mistake. For anyone reading this, I apologize if I seem rude, I don't mean to be. Also, I apologize for my earlier SNAFU earlier when I posted this thread before I was ready for it to be read.
powerboost NEVER EVER saw it work in teh entire time in beta, was TKA master twice.
toughness is like natural armour vs that type of attack.
Whoa.. You mean Unarmed Toughness only protects against enemies using unarmed attacks? I thought it worked against everything, as long as I was unarmed... That's jacked up. It does help me make my decision though. I wanted to be a TK ever since I heard about them. All of my friends told me that I was crazy though. I've been pulling enemies with a pistol, then switching to my Vibro Knuckler when they get within 15 meters.I'm lvl 3 in Marksman and Unarmed Brawling right now, without really trying to level up in Marksman. Granted, I just got my Vibro Knuckler 2 nights ago, it still seems like using a pistol is a LOT easier than using Unarmed. *sigh* I was hoping that the reason TK is so hard to master is because it's worth it in the long run. I've pretty much stopped using Unarmed when I'm grouping with my friends, because they kill MOBS faster before I can even get to them.
I don't know which way I'm going to go yet. I just finished Unarmed IV, so I guess I can use it for Commando, or maybe drop it when I get high enough in Pistoleer to need the points.
Thanks for the info.
dont give up man. i know it seems slow, but once u get TKA u will become a killing machine and it goes really really fast. it took me longer to get the 70,000 exp unarmed 4 than it did the 175,000 power 1 of the TKA cuz i was doing a lot more damage and stuff....i suggest you go to the tusken camp 200m norht of wayfar on tatooine. there is always a big group there and ull get 500 exp a drop at ur level, and once u become a TKA u should get around 1000 exp a drop.
tka is really fun
i killed a Imperial in PvP in one hit (1643 damage using unarmed hit1!)
There are similar things like One-Hand Toughness, Two-Hand toughness etc. for the other branches.
Melee Defense is your chance to avoid enemy Melee attacks (They miss).
In the in-game description of the meditation branch, healing is never mention.
Instead it says that having meditation skills increases your change of hitting. Is this description wrong(because many players have said it deals with regeneration)?
People's stupidity never ceases to amaze me....
Before coming to the forums and posting "ogm **edit** do all these skizll do tell me I dfont undearstand!?" How about you **edit**ing figure it out for yourself. There is this skill window, I don't know if you have found it yet but its there, and on it; it lists all the skills! I'll give you an uber hint! IF YOU MOVE YOUR MOUSE OVER THE SKILL BOX IT TELLS YOU WHAT IT DOES!!!
"People's stupidity never ceases to amaze me...."
Well I agree with you on one thing Ienjoy...People's stupidity never ceases to amaze me as well. I'm quite sure, however, that we disagree on who the stupid people are.
This is a forum to share information and ask questions about the TKA profession (DUH!). If seeing questions about the TKA profession bothers you, maybe you arein the wrong forum.
I can answer both of these questions. At Expert Balance Conditioning, you will get +15 to Unarmed Toughness. That is a HUGE boost, since most other skill boxes only give +4. Thus, it's best to check your defensive skills against a creature before you get that box, then come back when you do get it.
Let me give you a hint of my results. Before I trained in Expert Balance Conditioning, Tusken Raiders were hitting me with their batons (which is a Fencer type weapon) for about 150. After I trained in the box to get the +15 Unarmed Toughness, they hit for about 80-100 on average. Unarmed Toughness is VERY important, and it means just what it says. As long as you are unarmed or equipped with Vibro Knucklers, this skill modification will work. The weapon your enemy is using is irrelevant.
The usefulness of meditate? Meditate is very useful. As a person said above me, it increases regeneration. At Advanced Meditative Techniques, I ran a test on my mind regeneration assuming that meditate only increased that. Without meditate but sitting, my mind pool regenerated about 30 points in 30 seconds. While meditating, it increased to 50 points in 30 seconds. I imagine at Master Meditative Techniques, your regeneration will be more than doubled. Not to mention the fact that you can slowly heal your wounds. I do not, however, know which wounds are healed while meditating. I'm not even sure if meditate gives a regeneration bonus to the health and action pools. I will be testing this in the future, once I obtain Teras Kasi Master.
