I'm considering giving up my carbine skills and doing TKA. What kind of shape is it in? I know alot of other professions are in pretty rough shape and the working ones are being nerfed. Also would you recomend TKA over ranged weapons? I'm a CH and rarely do PvP if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.

I don't recommend any melee over ranged unless you just like it.. I love melee.. That's just how I am.. Ranged bores me very quick.

I could not stand ranged. But TKA is nothing special go bounty hunter or marksman like the other 50k people on your server. BTW is it just me or can you never find a TKA to train any skills. I allways have to go to the **edit** trainer and pay.

CH/carbineer is a great style, but I think CH/TKA is no worse..

TKA can take a lot more melee damage than carbineer can and when a mob gets angry at you, you would want to have some melee defense.

Also, TKAs do more damage than carbineers, although you know if they're not close enough they can't do any.

i love tka so much that i have pretty much given up on pistol to the point that i only want it so i dont get my a$$ kicked in pvp while the guy kites.

but if you can get a good kd without your vk's on, i can finish him before he even stands back up

TKA is a blast is you don't mind losing. I LOVE it.

TKA is a fantastic PvE profession. Its the PvP thats broken at the momment so go for it.

The combination of TKM / xprofession (really good ones include commando, medic/doctor, CH, carbineer) all depends on if you really have the desire to fight unarmed.

I am not afraid to admit that I am one of the many that thought TKM would always be losers in PvP after i started aiding theRebelion.

I ground my way through TKM, and MCH with only 1 or 2 PvP engaugements. When I was ready to PvP and started, I became VERY frustrated with being a master of 2 professions and always getting wooped by some n00b with 2 storm troopers. I had a good friend invite me to his dojo to help me learn the correct methods of killing as a TKM. Be warned, it is VERY different then killing creatures and npcs.

But all said and done, my friend and I (both TKM) have made a few trips to theed (imperial central on our server) and have cleaned house.Its ALL about knowing what to do, when to do it, and how and whento pick your fights.

If you love the feeling of your adreniline rushing through your fists andtaking on your enemy face to face and standing over them victorious, then Teras Kasi is the way to go. Out of all the brawler classes it is also the most powerful in PvP.

There's really no luke-warm feelers about this profession...you're either a melee'r or not. If you have that lust for turning fields of your enemies into soup on occasions when you're in the right mindframe and than other nights when you're a bit off getting kited by anybody with a CDEF...go for it. It's an absolute blast and though I've mastered and given up a few other professions on the side...TK is here to stay.

Simply put...make your own choice and there's always going back, but if you do it right and really RP with it, you will have the most HONEST FUN you'll ever have.
