Thread: Does everyone give up Scout?
On hilly terrain, it would be a must. You'd be useless w/o it if your target had it and ran...
Often, you can get by without it but when it comes to some hills, you can really feel the pain. For example, the hills around AH are virtually a turkey shoot if you do not have terrain negotiation. If someone kites you into the hills, you basically have no recourse except burstrun, die, or break off the attack.
I recently started doing the rebel themepark for the 2nd time and the missions on Dantooine were horrible. Often, I would warp when getting off my bike and find myself slowing walking up a hill to get to a trooper. COB can do quite a bit but without a ranged attack of your own, even a novice marksman can eventually kill you.
Having said that, it was worth the sacrifice for my template in my opinion. Most cities are fairly flat and bases aren't built on the sides of hills. You will just have to know your limitations or do something that takes terrain out of the equation. For me, that something is pulling out my pistol.
For PvE, NPCs will kite you a bit attimesbut most other mobs rush you. All you really need to do is wait for them to close the distance for you.

I usually use a travel biscuit. My undershirt is +5 terrain negotiation (SEA), and I looted a staff that's also +5, giving me a total of +19 TN (equivalent to 1000 Scout). Works pretty well for me.

I'm still debating dropping Scout or Entertainer. One has to go for me to Master Doctor. I do so get tired of not being able to heal BF on adventure planets, but I can't stand not being able to get up hills either.
