Well, first off, try to have some good synthsteak and preferably some good composite armor, and buffs are a MUST (not an option in PvP right now).

Also, you're best off in a group, even the toughest guy can get beat down if a dozen enemies jump him.

being a goog pvper comes with two things. equipment and practice. The better your stuff is and the more times you have pvped with your template the better you will be. Best thing to do is just suck it up and go overt, see what happens, and make changes accordingly.

and yes you can pvp with just TKA, but you may get knocked down and dizzy fairly easy if you dont have pistol tech 4 to back you up.

If you want to stand the best chance at PvP, you should have high-end composite, around 70% or so and a shield generator, because others will be fencers/docs that will be able to stay around long. You will want brandy, ahisra (sp?), and synth steak. You should get a little bit of practice in from duels, then you should be ready.

Bah. Remember that fencer weapons are lame. If you have 30% stun resist armor that's fine. Take a synthsteak, let's say 25% resist in addition (you can actually get 50% synthsteak but the stuff costs a fortune).

So you're a TKM. A fencer comes up to you. He's got a stun baton, let's say it's an acklay doing 160-220 damage. He comes up to you and starts hitting you with Body Hit 3.

Your melee mitigation lowers his damage to 160-184 damage. That's multiplied by 4 from his special attack, which makes it 640-736 damage. But he gets a 75% damage reduction for PvP, bringing it back down to 160-184 damage. Your armor will reduce the damage by half because a stun baton is AP0 and your armor is AR1, so that's 80-92 damage. Then the stun resistance on your armor reduces it by another 30% down to 56-64 per hit. Your synthsteak reduces it again by 25% down to 42-48 damage per hit. You'll also have unarmed toughness, though I'm not certain exactly how much that will reduce the damage.

Let's just say that fencer probably won't be doing a lot of damage to you. The only reason fencers were popular for a while was because their special move, scatter hit, was bugged so that it could ignore things like melee mitigation. That is no longer the case so fencers are now the worst melee profession when it comes to offensive ability.

If I were you I'd be more afraid of swordsmen.

I suggest you start out doind a lot of friendly duels to get used to fighting the different classes and work out some strategies....

Also get some dodge food

btw you can get 25% dam red from exo protien cakes...which are only 5 filling... my synth is 42% for 37 attacks 28 filling.

Oh yea, get some spice (muon and pixie), don't eat all your food at once...

When Iwant to pvp I'll take a brandy and synth while getting buffed, pop an arisha 10-15m later, get mindbuffed, pop another brandy...stop taking arisha once focus get's over 1800. if people attack your min IMMIDIATLY take the muon and some canape...pop another synth or exo ir the old one is worn out

Exo-protein wafers do have a filling of only 5, but they also last less than half as long. My synthsteak also has less than 28 filling (can't remember how much but I know it's less than that) but it also is less than 30% reduction. I guess wafers are ok if you don't expect to get into a long fight (remember that if you fight someone attack at the speed cap a wafer that blocks 16 attacks will only last 16 seconds), or if you don't mind keeping an eye on your buffs.

Scatterhit hits 3 pools.. thats 3 hits for steak.. thats why its used. They use it to make more damage later (in like 20secs).
