Thread: Tank help

I am currently looking to change up my toon a bit, a go for a solid tanking build. I am currently a TKM/MDoc, and although that is great, I want to fill more of a tanking role. I want to keep TKM, I mean who wouldn't. I was a master brawler at one time, and I loved warcry and intimidate2. So Im thinking if I go back to MB/TKM, which of the other brawler professions would help my tanking the most? I really don't like dabbling, I'm more of a master or nothing type of guy. I know I should probably keep some medic, so what do you guys think?

You be better off trying master TKA/master fencer/master swordsman or master TKA/master swordsman/master pikeman. You have stacked defenses. You have a variety of weapons to use that can deal out some diversity of damage. You have a lot of really good moves.

It works fine for me. I'm not invincible, not even close, and stacking isn't meant to make you that way. But based on the complaints I get when I duel friends who have trouble hitting me or laying states on me, I think it works well enough.

I forgot to add... Here is my template. I have master brawler so you can get back those skills you used to love (they are great).
Teras Kasi Master. Brawler Master. Fencer 4440. Pistoleer 0340.
Defenses:
Combat Equilibrium +55
Defense Acuity +96
Defense vs Blind +90
Defense vs Dizzy +85
Defense vs Intimidate +20
Defense vs Knockdown +120
Defense vs Posture Change +100
Defense vs Stun +55
Dodge +100 (in case you pull out a pistol)
Melee Defense +136 (capped)
Ranged Defense +121 (capped with cheap attachments)
Also with Pistoleer you get Ranged Mitigation 2.

For a tanking template I'd suggest this if you want to go pure tank.
TKM
Master Brawler (In my opinion a must have for any tank, extra toughness in it as well as Intim2 which is so much better then intim1)
Fencer 4-4-4-0
Pikeman 0-0-4-0
Medic 2-2-0-0
Scout 2-0-0-0 (the ability to run after whatyourtanking is a must
)
This will give you some great deffenses, you will be caped on melee & ranged deffense & you will have
+90 againest KD
+100againest Posture change
+65 againest Dizzy
It's not great, theres prob better out there but thats prob what I would recomend for a tank template. You of course also have TK as your attacking skills so you can do some good PvP damage & some ok medium level PvE damage. One thing to remember while you tank, use /taunt, it helps so much as that way your target SHOULD stay on you & not go off after the poor Carbineer who will prob get his arse kicked quick ^_^

I'm pretty much the same except I have Smuggler 0440 instead of master brawler.
The important part is the Fencer 4440 and pistoleer 0040, with those you will have great defeneses combinded with TKM. You will get intimidate and stun landed on you a lot, but that doesn't really matter much if you are just tanking.

Another combo that I've found works great for tanking is:
TKM
0440 Doctor
3400 Fencer
You get fairly good state defenses (+80 vs.Posture ChangeDown)and +70 vs KD) and decently high melee defense(+116) and rangeddefense (+99)by coupling Fencer and TKM. With BE clothes, a Lightweight Military Travel Pack and 2 Au'kuan Rings, you can max out melee defense and boost your ranged defense to +112, assuming you can afford those items.Still, when going up against the real terrors in the game (NS Elders, Tusken Observers, etc.), I've found it's best to drop the +8 melee defense from my pants and jacket and put on a good suit of composite.
With 0440 Doc, you can use med use 90 enhancepacks to buff yourself and with a good Stim E, you can heal yourself to max from near incap. I figured there would be no need to take the Wound Treatment Speed line mainly due to the fact that as a TKM, meditating off poison and disease is easy enough. Granted, this is strictly a PvE Tanking template, but it's worked well enough.
