Thread: Nightsister enhanced VKs: waste or winner?

I recently got my own pair of NS VK's (18% dam and a speed slice ) , but I really wish I'd run these numbers earlier... (I was getting 750k/motor).


I decided to run some numbers on DPSnow, I decided on basing my calculation on a 30% slice as they seems easy enough to attain (meaning with 15-20 VK's)


1. regular VK 37-146 sliced for 30% damage 48-191

2 my NS VK 87-198 (made with 59/61 motors), with the 18% dam slice I got

3.how it would have been with a 30% slice: 96-221

4.Nym enhanced VK (+20 max damage motor), 30% slice 48-217



And then ran the numbers agan with Melee Mitigation III taken into consideration.


the values are DPS for : unarmed Combo1, Unarmed Hit3, Unarmed Headhit


Here's what I got:

Remember these need to be divided by 4 for PVP, and they represent damage before defenses/armor etc.



Conslusion: I wish I has sold em and went to Lok for a few hours....My super rare NS VK barely outdamaged a much more common Nym VK...NOT worth losing 750k (except for bragging rights)....it's use seems to be justifiable ONLY to fight melee profs...

I'm more suprised that you were able to buy them for 750k, they go for millions on Kauri

A friend and I looted 8 from axvka...we sold 6 to a WS we know


btw I noticed I made a misake on my vibro...it's 87-207 lol...I'll recalculate the stuff later...

too bad on that 18% slice though, I thought they should be much higher if crafted with decent resources.... I've seen some that are 250 or so, then with an attachment added near 300

To be holy honest, i have been checking the difference between speed sliced vk's and damage sliced vk's and other misc vk's that I have been picking up.


And lately, I have had my local weaponsmith make me a set of Low HAM vk's to play with. And for 99.9999% of all the PvE I have been doing, i use the low HAM ones, cause the extra 50-100 damage that I do seems to be basically irrellivant. And the difference of the mind costs between the low HAM and the high damage is really been what's been making the difference and not the actual damage output that I can do.


Granted, I am also finding that I can either just destroy things, or I can't touch them at all. But that just comes down to the level of Kenitic resists, which I am sure everyone has found.


So yeah, I am going to have to agree that it doesn't seem to make much a difference at all, and if I did my math right, the extra 50ish damage that the NS VK's or even the Nym VK's do, only will translate to about 150 on Uhit3, and with the specials cost for Uhit3, well, doesn't make it worth bread. And besides, I don't know about you all, but I burn through my VK's almost as fast as I burn through brandy. Cheaper = Better IMHO.

The bottom line is that your Nightsister motor simply wasn't a very good one. I've seen them add more than 130 damage to a VK. It looks like yours only added about 50 points. Now, a Nym motor can add up to 30 points (to max damage only). Not a lot of difference. Then consider an 18% slice on one and a 30% slice on the other, that can even it out.

If you had gotten a powerful NS VK even unsliced it would have blown that Nym motor VK out of the water.

wow, this is the first I have heard of NS VKs. What do I need to kill to get the loot? Elders I assume?

ns vks are good if there 60+damge or more motors wre in them u get a GOOD damage slice and they will be nice... like i looted NightSister Vibro Blade unit(Exceptional) +153 hehe and got a 29% damge slcie now my vk is 353max damge =O nice sisnt it ^_^ but i dought ill ever be able to make it again thes blade units getting hard to get

My VK does have the highest minumim damage I've ever seen though (unsliced)
