Thread: innate armor versus battle armor??? help

trying to find some infor for a returning friend who has tkm and master sword but dont know enough about the innate armor of a TKM. SO what is it and would it be better to be using battle armor or BE clothing and tapes?

At Master Tera Kasi you have an innate Armor of 60... nice info...but in tests you can figure out it's like a Battle Armor of around 6000 in all and has no costs at all and you still can wear BE clothes.


So what do you think is better with that info

Easiest way to get an idea? Group up with somebody in armor.

My usual partner in crime, scout trooper armor...not getting hit by much when I'm able to keep aggro (still learning how to do that in the new system), attacked by a swarm of huurtons in the Warren, health dropping like a stone. Incapacitated at one point when she took aggro from me, I dragged the critters off of her so she could get away and we could reassess.

Me, same area, getting hit by MORE of the huurtons I'm happy to say, and like I said, getting critters off of her...never incapacitated, between innate armor and CoB, my health never got below a quarter. What was I wearing? Imperial uniform with a +4 melee defense/+17 stun defense shirt below the jacket.

I realize it was scout armor, recon basically, but still...innate works like a champ for me! I've stopped even carrying armor, much less using it.

well that does explain alot and thank you for helpful responses.

i would like to get a little more detail on pvp horesplay last night. current template TKM, Mfencer, scout sxplore 1-4, FS melee def 1.......went up againts me MBH, Mcarbine, MMarksman, Novice pistol(only), scout explore 1-4, huntin 1-2, FS melee def 1-3, survival 1, melee speed 2, ranged def 1.

now i was able to basically kd, adv crit, snare, run away, leg shot and adv crit till tkm was dead. he managed to burst run to catch up but being kd, and snared gave me distance advantage and he could never get hits above 300 dam on me and my health never went down below 75% around theres. Switched to a pistol and did the same thing, and tried using the gay light lightning cannon. I won and he is so pissed that he cant keep defenses up, cant live, cant deal out comparible damage. he is suing no armor and has a few bonuses of be shirt/pants combo, uses rsf sword, and fights like pre cu 4 months ago.

he is adjusting to new cu and has been gone overseas 4 months......any one have pointers to help change tkm template, fight techniques?

if he's not using Cob, he should be.


he should open with lunge, then stick a cripple, bind, blind, armor break, then just go to town with body hits/melee strikes. when he his health gets to 3/4, he should use a 1000+ personal stim d. this should allow him to use it again if he gets really low on health.


if he gets caught without CoB on, it's over. if he gets rooted/KD'd, he should store up his action at least to 50%, then burst run, KD/armor break and bodyhit for the win.


i'm not sure if he can take the root beatings with just fencer/tkm. should be able to do reasonably well, though.


as TKM/Fencer/Swordsman, i have yet to lose to any mundane, including rooting bh's/ranged players. it's tactics. specials, and timing.

Foods, too, help, don't forget foods, there's foods now that increase your health regen and action regen by something insane, and for an hour's time. Spice also if you're in a real pinch, though I generally save such things as pixie for absolute last-ditch.
